《In Bed With Mr. President 》全部章節：第 1 章 - 第 10 章

Celeste's POVThere are many things people don't tell you about leaving rehab. Maybe Lindsay Lohan would know how to phrase the experience better.Nobody tells you that freedom can become terrifying because you're suddenly responsible for staying clean and staying sane and every damn morning, you wake up and wonder what the hell you're supposed to do with yourself.I'm finding my path, or at least I believe I am.I look at myself in the mirror one final time before wrapping my hair into a messy bun. It's 6:30 am, and I need to start jogging around the neighbourhood. It's been part of my routine and a form of coping for the past few months.I'm wearing my tracksuit, and I connect my headphones, putting my Spotify playlist on shuffle before jogging into the early morning. One foot after another. Breathe in, breathe out.The neighbourhood is still quiet, the streets washed in that pale morning light, with only a few cars passing and someone's dog barking behind a fence. I like mornings

Celeste's POV For the first time, I try to stay optimistic. I try not to think about the fact that I'm obviously in the black book of a presidential candidate who might eventually win and then wake up on the wrong side of the bed one morning and decide to find the lady who called him an angry bird during one of his campaigns in Texas. I won't only be screwed, but I'll be screwing Ciara too, and that's the part that hurts because she's totally innocent. "No, nothing will happen." I comfort myself as I place my right hand on my chest. "Ciara won't find out about this, and the president will forget about this encounter. Amen." I say the prayer in faith. The back entrance is less busy now, and everyone seems settled. So, the whole goal was to get Jordan Rogers on stage for his speech. Great. I look around me, and everyone is tuned in, watching the program unfold live. "He'll give his speech in the next eight minutes," a worker randomly says out loud, his eyes still glued to

Celeste's POV Anyone but me would be so excited to ride in the same convoy as the presidential candidate. And why's that? Because I'm practically guilty of so many things at once.I don't know if it's a criminal offence, but impersonating your sister for a political campaign sounds really shady, and trust me, I was just doing her a favour. At the same time, that favour did not involve mocking the future president in his face. That's automatic beef. Now, who knows? He might be taking me somewhere to have my head chopped off. Everyone knows politics is a bloody game, and I might just experience it firsthand. If this is the end, let my sister know where I'm buried because she won't stop until she finds my grave."I'm sorry." The words leave my mouth quietly.Jordan Rogers' eyes are fixed on the window, his expression distant, but not distant enough to miss what I said.He slowly turns his head to face me. "Saying something?"Does he want me to repeat myself again just to feed his ego?"

Celeste's POVNow, how do I walk up to this man, look him in his eyes, and tell him, "Yes, my sister has approved me accepting your job offer."Anyways. I straighten my dress, hang the ID card properly on my neck, arrange my hair, then turn around and walk out of the waiting area to where Jordan has been standing after discussing with his team. The evening breeze pushes a strand of hair across his forehead, but he doesn't bother moving it. One hand stays buried in his pocket while his heel taps against the glass floor every ten seconds, if I count that correctly.I walk closer to him, clearing my throat. "Mr. President."He lets out a small laugh before turning to face me, making him look ten times sexier. "I'm not yet one, but I like when you call me that."Wait? Is angry bird flirting with me?"I know what's good for America, you know." I smile confidently because I know that's the trick to doing this right... believing in yourself."Tell me more." He turns to face me with his arms

Celeste's POV Today is happening exactly as Sonia said, and from what I'm seeing, politics doesn't come with a slow morning. I'm experiencing that in real time.I wouldn't believe that I'll ever get to experience this, not that I wanted to.Everyone's been busy the whole night till this morning, rounding up stories, headlines, and whatever form of political damage control measures they were taking.I barely slept.Phones rang at all hours. Footsteps kept passing outside the office room Sonia had left me in, and every few minutes, another door would open and close somewhere in the headquarters. The entire place never really went quiet. Everyone was trying to keep a presidential campaign from falling apart, and according to the whispers I overheard, Jordan Rogers slept in his office last night.Crazy. I see why everyone's working extra. Nobody wants to be the next person he fires. He better fire me this morning because this might be the worst decision of my life. The door pulls open,
