The Philippines' justice system is comprised of two types of legal proceedings. One type of case involves criminal cases in which the State is the Plaintiff and the Defendant is a person accused of committing a crime.
The other type of case is a civil case, in which private individuals, corporations, other legal entities, or even government agencies can be either the Plaintiff or the Defendant, and which is a legal proceeding to resolve private disputes between the parties.
I will use criminal cases in this story. I am not a professional, a law student, or have a strong legal background. Thank you so much!

"Are both sides ready?" The Judge first remark. "Yes, Your Honor." The trial started in an instant. "Please, read the charge." The Judge added, the Prosecutor stood up. "On July 12, 2018, at 8 p.m., the Defendant, Maple Santiago accused the Victim Liam Cunanan of rape and abuse while staying at a luxurious hotel. She threatened the Victim with a knife found in a hotel's mini kitchen and then murdered him by stabbing him twice in the armpit and at the knee. The Prosecutor began walking towards the center, looking at the Defendant. She goes on. "GOOD morning, Ma'am. Table for?" The staff greeted me. I gave a small smile. "I'm here under the reservation of Lake Mancini." "Allow me to guide you, Ma'am." "GOODmorning, Attorney!" I smiled and greeted them too before going to my office. I looked like shit but presentable naman, but minabuti kong mag-shades muna kase tinamad ako mag-full make-up at ayoko ma-late sa first day ko sa firm. Galing ko talaga mag-English! Today is the last trial, I wish it will be a good successful. I packed up my things and get my car keys. Binigyan ako ni Mancini ng sasakyan pagka-uwi ko dahil mahihirapan daw akong sumakay. Well good for me. I went straight to the court for my trial. Pinasa lang sa'kin 'to dahil last naman na. Babasahin lang naman ang magiging sintensya. "Is this the mighty Attorney Miranda?" When I heard my name called, I turned around right away. "Prosecutor Han!"

Naka-schedule na ang second trial ni Maple by Thursday, kaya pilit kong hinahanap ng butas 'yung kaso niya dahil Martes na ngayon. "Pagtimpla pa kita, Attorney?" Rinig ko saad ni Iñigo.

KINAUMAGAHAN, nag-aayos na ko para pumasok sa trabaho. Tinamad ako mag-skirt kaya nag-slacks na lang ako at double V-neck white long sleeve blouse, tinack-in ko lang 'yung sa harap tsaka kinuha 'yung gold moon necklace ko, kumuha ng coat tsaka stilettos at ang lagi kong ginagamit na bag. Nag-spray ng perfume kinuha ang susi ng kotse at dumaan muna sa Starbucks para sa kape. "Good morning, Attorney!" Maligalig na bati ni Oreo at Chizkeyk. "Morning!" Pagpasok na pagpasok ko sa office nadatnan ko na si Iñigo sa table niya, may sinusulat sa sticky notes ta's may dinidikitan siya. "Morning!" Bati ko agad naman siyang tumayo.
