Chapter 1: Omega Sophia

"Three bloodlines must merge within one person!"

I stood at the edge trembling like a leaf, as I pushed my body against the wall.

My eyes fixed on the approaching man with red eyes and sharp fangs.

Tears streamed down my face as I pleaded with him not to harm me, but deep down I knew this was my destiny.

The prophesy tells that I would be bitten by the most powerful vampire while carrying the child of an unscented wolf in my womb.

"Sophia!"

The sound of that echoing voice snapped me back to reality. I blinked trying to shake off the remnants of my dream yet still feeling its presence as if it were real.

Was I so engrossed in the book I was reading that it invaded my dreams?

"Do you want to get yourself killed?"

"Huh?" I automatically responded processing the words of my friend Bella in my mind. "Why are you sleeping here as if it's your own house?"

I hadn't even looked at her yet but I could imagine her rolling her eyes and gesturing frantically to the surroundings reminding me that I wasn't at home.

"Our boss, who's loving but heartless, has been calling you multiple times."

My heart thumped loudly in my chest, causing me to sit up and gaze at her foolishly. "A-Are you sure?" I quickly corrected myself, wiping my lips and asking, "I-I mean, why?"

I was curious about what our boss needed from me. Did I do something wrong?

But it was too late.

I swallowed hard as I realized I had fallen asleep in the middle of my work. How long had I been like this?

I knew I was sleep deprived because I felt exhausted.

After finishing my shift at Hildart, I still had tasks waiting for me at home.

But why was I complaining?

Even if I explained my situation, it would be pointless because Sir Eros didn't care. Who was I, anyway?

Taking a deep breath, I turned to face my printer. It was still on and I hadn't finished the printing task Miss Bimbie had assigned me. I was in trouble.

Shaking her head, Bella said, "I don't know. Maybe he needs the document Miss Bimbie gave you to print?"

I exhaled, trying to calm my fear. But as I bit my bottom lip. my gaze focused on a circle that resembled a drop of liquid on the topmost bundle of papers on my desk. My eyes widened as I realized it was my saliva.

Swallowing hard, I looked at Bella and asked, "Has it been 10 minutes since he called?"

"It's only been about 3 minutes," she replied with a shrug. "Remember, there was one time it took five minutes because I had a hard time waking you up..." She glared at me. "It's best to keep your distance. Don't get too close to him or you'll end up dead."

I breathed a sigh of relief at the mention of those '3 minutes,' but it didn't mean I was out of danger. I still had two consequences to face. First, I hadn't finished printing all the paperwork Miss Bimbie had assigned me. And secondly, my saliva had soaked the topmost paper.

Tidying up my messy hair into a bun, I forced myself to stand up. I knew Sir Eros didn't want an ugly employee, but it didn't matter. If he wanted to kill me, I would let him. After all, I had a tragic life, and it was exhausting.

I was living with my aunt, who was my mother's cousin and mated to a powerful warrior.

She had a son and two daughters, but they didn't treat me well.

Thanks to my aunt I experienced daily abuse, often in the form of slaps. I had only been working with Sir Eros for a week and already my aunt had asked me to buy supplies for their daily needs.

When I couldn't give her anything yesterday, I received another slap.

All I could do was cry.

I didn't hold anything against them because my cousins came from a strong bloodline on their father's side. My aunt was also the daughter of a warrior, while my mother and I were Omegas.

On top of being an Omega, I still hadn't received my wolf when I turned 18. Some said maybe my wolf was dormant, but come on, Sophia, if you're scared of your boss, there's no need to make your sad life into a drama. Pity is not in his vocabulary!

"I only called once, Ms. Fiennes!"

His voice felt like it shattered my leg, and I lost the strength to support myself.

Somehow, I managed to stay on my feet and Bella my friend who seemed to have two mouths when she spoke was also panicking. Papers were falling but thankfully my talkative friend had a kind heart and helped me pick them up from the floor.

She said, "You need to hurry if you don't want to die, but if he ends up killing you, just accept it. You'll still go to heaven because you're an angel, okay? Always remember that I love you."

I couldn't help but glare at her and say, "Thanks, you're such a big help."

She just grinned and raised two fingers in a peace sign. "That's my love language, Sophia! Now go! The 5 minutes are almost up! Good luck!"

I heard myself laugh bitterly, even though I was filled with fear. I felt my face changing color due to the intensity of my emotions.

If our boss were just a human, I could talk to him without fear. But Eros Hildarttre was an Alpha of the Dark Moon pack and feared by everyone.

It meant he had no inclination to show mercy.

Our pack was accustomed to socializing with humans. Sir Eros was also the CEO of the Hildart Group, which had diverse business interests in different countries. But humans were unaware of his true nature. In our pack, I was an Omega. I didn't know what the Alpha saw in me that he personally offered me this job. Maybe it was because I had many human friends?

The truth was, I had attended Hildart University. It was one of the most prestigious schools in the city, and I had received the Alpha's favor to enroll there, although I still didn't know the reason. I couldn't even say that there was anything special about me that only he saw, because I didn't have a wolf and I had no significant role in the pack, except that I used to work for him as his personal slave in exchange for my safety.

Standing nervously outside his closed office door, a surge of anxiety washed over me once again. I took a deep breath and raised my fist to knock, but his voice from inside stopped me in my tracks. "get in," he commanded, while simultaneously opening the door.

His penetrating gaze bore into mine, and I felt the weight of his stare bearing down on me. My throat went dry, and I found myself shrinking under his intense scrutiny. "H-hi sir," I managed to stammer.

I immediately regretted my choice of a casual greeting as he turned his back and walked silently towards his desk.

It seemed to suggest that I had shown disrespect, and I realized too late that I should have entered the room when the heavy door began closing on its own. Quickly, I blocked it with my hand and stepped inside.

The room was filled with his imposing presence, sending a clear message that I needed to be cautious with every action and word. It felt as though I had entered a dark cave with a dangerous beast that could strike at any moment.

Suddenly, his voice filled the space, causing me to jump slightly. "Is everything ready?" I bit my lip, my eyes fixated on the stack of paperwork in my arms.

In truth it was Miss Bimbie who had assigned me the task of printing those papers. If he had ordered her to make me do it, I would have surely faced consequences by now.

I mentally scolded myself for not completing the job properly and gathered the courage to make my plea. "M-may I ask for more time, sir? I haven't finished what you asked me to do..."

I paused, taking a deep breath before continuing, "...yet."

I waited for his response, closing my eyes briefly. The silence that enveloped the office was unnerving.

It felt as though at any moment he would appear in front of me, ready to reprimand me or worse.

In my mind, I imagined my body collapsing with a loud thud on the floor while my head rolled towards the door a grim testimony to my failure. But several seconds passed, he remained silent, doing nothing. Slowly, I opened my eyes. I didn't know how to meet his gaze directly, but when our eyes met, my heartbeat thundered in my chest.

"This is curious," he finally broke the silence, his words unrelated to the topic . "You're an Omega, yet your scent is strong."

"s-sir?" I raised my face, looking at him, confusion etched in me. His unexpected statement caught me off guard.

He raised an eyebrow, studying me intently. "Who are you, really?"
