Calling them 'tropes' feels too charitable. It's more like a checklist of every cringe-worthy fanfiction habit from that era. The OC is a flawless, angsty goth, the canon characters are wildly OOC, and the plot exists only to facilitate dramatic encounters. It's so bad it circles back to being a cultural artifact. You don't read it for the story; you read it to witness the sheer audacity.

Honestly, the main trope is just... chaos. It reads like someone threw every edgy teen fantasy from the mid-2000s into a blender. You've got the obligatory 'tragic past' for the OC, complete with vampire ancestry and a pentagram necklace. There's the sudden, poorly explained romance with Draco Malfoy, and even Voldemort gets weirdly sexualized. The dialogue is all 'rawr' and 'I’m goffik' and bands like Good Charlotte showing up for no reason.
It's kind of impressive in its commitment to being the most over-the-top thing possible. The tropes aren't used with any subtlety; they're just piled on top of each other until the whole thing collapses under its own weight. I can't tell if it's genius or terrible, but it's definitely memorable for all the wrong reasons.

So 'My Immortal' has basically been dissected to death, but if you actually sift through the endless typos and plot holes, the tropes it uses are a fascinating snapshot of a very specific 2006-era fanfiction sensibility. It's a chaotic mash-up of the self-insert gothic OC, the 'dark and misunderstood' romantic lead (Draco and especially Voldemort, who somehow becomes a love interest), and that classic 'I'm not like other witches' attitude. The protagonist, Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way, is the ultimate Mary Sue, with absurdly melodramatic backstories and powers that break the established rules of the 'Harry Potter' universe.
Beyond that, it relentlessly employs the 'everyone is in a band' trope, characters inexplicably listening to My Chemical Romance in the Hogwarts common room, and a complete disregard for canon setting. It’s less a story and more a bizarre time capsule of every fandom cliché from that period, amplified to a point of surreal parody. Whether it was intended as satire or not is still debated, but its legacy is that it makes you appreciate how fanfiction tropes evolve—or at least how spelling checkers became more widely used.

A prophecy. A pregnancy. A war five hundred years in the making.
Annie has been celibate, but somehow, she got pregnant. She has no idea how she got pregnant. Before she can process the miracle growing inside her, a stranger appears in the rain with an umbrella and a confession: "I'm the father of your child." His name is Killian Zerok. He is the most feared and ruthless Alpha of his time. He doesn't ask permission—he takes what's his. And according to him, Annie and the miracle child she's carrying belong to him. He's the last person Annie should be involved with, but for some reason, she can't seem to escape him.
Annie's baby is going to end the world.
That's what the witches said. What the werewolves believed. What the five-hundred-year-old immortal who'd been pulling the strings of her entire bloodline had planned.
But prophecies don't account for one thing: a mother's love.
Torn between the Alpha who swears he'll protect her and the monster who claims he created her, Annie must navigate betrayal, sacrifice, love, and a romance so fierce it defies destiny itself.
But the closer Annie gets to them, the more dangerous everything becomes.
Because some people want her baby dead.
Some want to exploit her baby's powers.
As the chaos unravelled, Annie's hidden powers suddenly awakened, and she's done playing by their rules.
Let the world burn. She's saving her baby.
NOTE; This is a dark romance novel with explicit, graphic, and steamy contents.
I am powerful, the most powerful witch until I give birth to a vampire and a half-witch. An Immortal Baby, the immortality of a baby was dangerous to every race, to vampires, werewolves, witches, and especially humans. Compare to Vampires who are naturally immortals, immortal babies are stronger and had no control over their thirst.
How will I protect her against the world? How did I become a mother and a wife of vampires who I consider enemies?
Will I fulfill my responsibility as a mother to her who they consider a demon?
Evie is an Immortal, not an ordinary Immortal but the daughter of the Evermore leader. Her parents expected their first daughter together to be destined for greatness, as were their sons. All Evermore and Immortals expected her to be a Chosen Immortal just like her brothers, it was expected.
But shortly after her birth, a book of destiny with a red and gold cover appeared beside her, shattering all the expectations they had for her. Since the books of destiny are destined for ordinary immortals, her family was deeply disappointed and ended up neglecting her.
Evie was raised by her older half-sister and her brother-in-law. Being exposed to rigorous education and heavy training since she was little, so she could prepare for when she was sent to the reality of her book of destiny. And finally, on her twentieth birthday, the day of her departure has arrived.
She was physically ready and psychologically prepared to change Danika, the reality of her book of destiny, and to find her soulmate.
But more than anything, she was eager to get away from all the gods who neglected her in her twenties.
And as much as she was aware that her life in Danika was not going to be easy, she didn’t expect the family she was going to end up in to cause so much trouble for her. Nor that she would be exposed to pains that she would not wish for even her worst enemy.
"Tomorrow, we don't have to speak of this again." I hardly know what I'm asking. I just know I want whatever it is.
He watches me with an intensity only he is capable of. "Put my hand where you want me to touch you."

Vaela should never have gone up that mountain. She should never have tried to find the Immortal Prince.
But she did, and now she's mortal in a land of immortals, fighting to find her mate in order to save her own life.
Yet the enigmatic Prince trying to save her life is getting in her way. How can she concentrate on finding her true mate when she is confined to his home, unable to resist him?
Unless, of course, he is the answer to all her problems.

They took everything from her. Her freedom, her pack, and her name.
Sofia Fletcher has survived four years of slavery, a mate who rejected her for her own stepsister, and the kind of cruelty that teaches you never to hope. She has one rule left: trust no one.
Then Draco walks into an auction house and takes her.
He doesn't bid. He doesn't ask. He simply crosses a room full of bowed heads because when the most powerful being alive enters, everyone drops their eyes, and he takes her home.
He is an Alpha King like no other. Werewolf. Vampire. Demon king. Dragon slayer. Immortal. And he has been searching for Sofia for years, because she is the one thing in his long, terrible life he cannot walk away from.
His fated mate.
Sofia wants nothing to do with him. She is an Omega the lowest rank in pack society with a dangerous secret buried in her blood, and a past that left scars no one is allowed to touch. Draco is patient, possessive, and impossible to ignore, and the mate bond humming beneath her skin is beginning to feel less like a curse and more like an answer.
But Sofia's secret is the kind that gets witches killed. And Draco's world is full of enemies including the brother who wants to destroy him, and the father who will use anyone to take back what he lost.
Falling for the Alpha King was never the plan but fate has it's own plan.
The year I was reborn was the year the vampire war began. The first thing I did was get rid of the pup. My mate's pup. Alpha Lucas's.
In my last life, he covered for his childhood friend, Sarah, when she mated a vampire. He took my pure-blood pup and swapped him with her half-breed bastard.
They branded me a traitor. Tortured me to death in a silver dungeon.
And my own son, brainwashed by Sarah, stood over my corpse and told me to rot in hell.
When I opened my eyes again, I was three months pregnant.
I didn't hesitate. I walked straight to the witch's hut and drank the poison she gave me. But as the life drained away, I uncorked another bottle: an expensive Mimic Potion.
It fakes a pup's heartbeat. It gives off the scent of an expecting mother.
Lucas wants a child to take the fall for Sarah's crime.
Fine. I'll give him a show.
This time, I have no weakness.
