What Is The Correct Reading Order For Natasha Madison Hockey Books?
As a newbie to the Natasha Madison hockey romance series, my TBR list is chaotic with all the standalones and interconnected couples. Should I start with "Nashville Angels" or stick to the original hockey club timeline to avoid missing crossovers?

I'm of the opinion that for any series with over six books, the author should provide an official, pinned reading order on their website. It's a basic courtesy to readers. Natasha Madison does have some graphics, but they're not always easy to find for newcomers. A simple, text-based list right on the homepage would save so much collective brainpower and repeated questions in fan groups.

I appreciate when authors make the reading order obvious on their website. Natasha Madison has a clear 'reading order' page, which is a lifesaver. It's the order I used, and I had zero confusion. Why reinvent the wheel? The author knows the story's evolution and intended reveals best. Just use her list as your map. It's the closest thing to an authoritative answer you'll get.

The publishing order is technically the 'correct' order, and for this series, I'd advise sticking close to it. It goes: This Is Crazy, This Is Wild, This Is Love, This Is Beautiful, Only One, Only You, Only Us, Only Him, When It's Real, When It's Right. The 'Something So' prequels were published intermittently but are set earlier. Reading them in publication order lets the world expand naturally as the author built it, and you get surprises and introductions as they were originally intended for readers. Any other order is a reinterpretation, which is fine, but not the 'as-designed' experience.

I disagree with the 'standalone' argument for this particular series. While the romance plot is self-contained, the world is not. A huge chunk of the page count in later books is dedicated to family interactions, inside jokes, and references to past events. Reading 'This Is Home' without the prior context would be like walking into a party where everyone knows each other's history and you're just nodding along. You can do it, but you're missing half the fun and emotional foundation.

Wait, are these the books with the cute illustrated covers of hockey players holding helmets? I've seen them all over BookTok. I didn't realize they were all connected. That makes the cover design suddenly make a lot more sense—same vibe, different couples.

Silver Preston was supposed to be America’s next figure skating champion. Until one devastating injury shattered her Olympic dreams and left her struggling to figure out who she is without the ice. As old wounds, campus gossip, and the pressure of their futures threaten to pull them apart, Silver and Eli discover that healing is never as simple as walking away from the past. The closer they grow, the harder it becomes to ignore the connection neither of them expected. We promised forever, but his hockey fame tore us apart. Five years later, I’m the journalist assigned to cover his championship run. He’s cold during interviews, answers clipped, eyes never lingering long enough for me to read what he’s thinking.
But off-camera, his burning gaze pins me down like I never left. Like we never ended, which blurs the line of love and lust.
The team calls him untouchable now. A league legend in the making.
I came here to tell his story, not to fall back into it. But as I dug deep, I realized everything I thought I knew was a lie.
And someone is determined to make sure I uncover it, no matter who gets destroyed when I do. Including Me.

In a world where reputation means everything, can two broken hearts survive the pressure or will their love shatter on the ice?

My Kindle library is a testament to chaotic reading. I have Madison books scattered everywhere, read based on nothing but the cover and my mood that day. And I loved every single one. Did I sometimes get a spoiler for a previous book's baby or engagement? Yeah. But in romance, the HEA is a given anyway. The journey is the point, not the destination spoiler. Knowing two people end up together doesn't ruin seeing how they get there. So, if a spoiler for a previous book's outcome is your main fear, I'd relax. It's a romance novel; the spoiler is literally 'they fall in love and live happily ever after.' The fun is in the specific bumps along the road.
Just pick the couple that sounds most interesting to you. Romance is about the central pairing, first and foremost. The series order is mostly for Easter eggs and side characters. The main love story in any given book is always complete. I started with 'Only One Regret' because the blurb about second-chance romance hooked me. Loved it. Then I went back and read the others to learn about the brother and cousins mentioned. Worked perfectly for me.
Lurking here and taking notes. Y’all are convincing me to clear my schedule for this. The list from the third comment seems definitive. To my TBR it goes, in that exact order.
The author occasionally mentions in Facebook posts or newsletters which book fits where for super fans asking. But she hasn't compiled it into one official document. The series guides are the official stance, and they work perfectly.
The controversy over reading order is part of the fun of being in a fandom. Arguing about whether to read the Brentwood books first or stick to Port Snow is like arguing about Star Wars watch order. There's no single right answer, only strong preferences and a willingness to fight about it in comment sections. Welcome to the club!
