How Many Volumes Does My Hero Academia Vigilantes Have?
Just finished the main series and trying to figure out the reading order. How does the prequel's structure and release differ? Are all the extra chapters included in the collected volumes?

My local bookstore has a full display. Last I checked, they had all 15 volumes in stock. The clerk mentioned it sells steadily, especially to fans who want the whole MHA experience. The cover art for the later volumes is particularly striking, with Volume 15 having a really poignant image of Koichi looking back over his shoulder. It's a series that deserves its spot on the shelf next to the main series. The character dynamics feel more adult in a way, dealing with rent, part-time jobs, and the mundane realities of life alongside the superheroics.

The main run ended at 15 volumes total. It's a completed series, so you can grab the whole set without waiting for more. I've got them all on my shelf. The art's fantastic, and seeing the world from a different angle was so refreshing compared to the main series. The final volume wrapped things up pretty nicely, I thought. Not every spin-off manages that level of cohesion.
Definitely worth the read if you're into the MHA universe.

Hmm, let me double-check my digital library. Yep, the series concluded with Volume 15. The fan translations were ahead of the official releases for a long time, which caused some confusion about the total count. But officially, in both Japan and the English release, it's 15 tankobon volumes. The final volume does a great job tying up Koichi's story while leaving the door open for his future. It's a spin-off that genuinely stands on its own, with a tone that's sometimes grittier and more personal than the main 'My Hero Academia' storyline.

Can confirm it's 15. I work at a bookstore and we just sold a complete set to someone. The series has a dedicated fanbase. It's often recommended to people who want more MHA but are waiting for new mainline chapters.

Ha, all this talk is making me nostalgic for the weekly chapter discussions. The theories flying around about Number 6's identity were wild. Good times. The series really built a cool little community while it was running.

(book 1) Taika was a little different from other transmigration, she didn't wanted vengeance neither or wealth, she wasn't betrayed by her close ones neither did she get killed by anyone.
In fact Taika had a normal peaceful life, a lovely parents and doting siblings and great friends who supported her when she was facing hardship or trouble. Like a bad dream her prefect life shattered one very night, her life took a double turn when she woke up only to find out she is dead and was bond to a transmigration cycle without her consent.
She became a life puppet to the system cycle, due to her pure character she had to take twisted classes in order to be a villainess.
And it was killing her...no matter how hard she struggled... she could never escape this suffering or tortured it was a cycle which she had to pass through and eventually became them.
"You also feel Lumira died an unjust death? Then let's see you change it."
Rina Vale died cursing an author for killing her favorite villainess. Now she's trapped in that villainess's body, with a blood contract saying: 'rewrite the sequel or be erased.'
The ex who drove Lumira to suicide is hunting her. The vampire prince wants to destroy her beautifully. And the Author who sent her here? Still watching.
The Blood Moon is rising. She has the spoilers. But surviving the story might be harder than rewriting it.
She died once in fire while the man she loved watched her burn without a single step forward.
Elena Vale was the villainess of a romance novel—written to be hated, destroyed, and discarded at the end of the story.
And she did die exactly like that.
Until she woke up at the beginning of it all.
The night of the Arden Charity Gala.
The night everything was supposed to start.
This time, Elena remembers everything—every betrayal, every humiliation, every moment she was written to lose.
But instead of begging for survival…
She chooses revenge.
Because if the world insists she is the villainess, then she will become one they cannot control.
A woman who does not beg for love.
A woman who builds power instead of tears.
A woman who turns her ending into a beginning of destruction.
And as she rises, something strange begins to happen.
The male lead who once ignored her starts watching.
The heroine who was supposed to replace her starts trembling.
And the system that once promised her survival begins to warn her:
[WARNING: Villainess behavior exceeds original plot limits.]
But Elena is no longer afraid of the story.
She is rewriting it.
And this time… she will be the one they fear.
I transmigrated into the role of a gorgeous villainess, tasked with tormenting my childhood buddies.
I forced Maddox, Mr. Tough Guy, into putting on a sexy dress, essentially killing his chances of a social life.
I grabbed the bottom of the ever-aloof Zane and made him red in the face.
I kicked Damian, the crybaby, into the ground, and all he could do was glare at me through his tearful eyes.
My aggressive antics only fueled their resentment.
“One of these days, I’ll get you.”
I winked at them without a care. “I’ll be waiting.”
The day they crossed paths with the female lead would be the day I left this world. Their revenge didn’t scare me one bit.
Little did I know, the time would come when I would be proven wrong.
While I scrambled to get away in tears, he said softly, “Save your strength. The night is still young.”
It's eight. I've seen some people ask if there will be more, but no, the story is complete. The author and artist told the story they wanted to tell within those eight volumes, and it shows in the tight plotting.
Every side character feels necessary, and even minor villains get moments that humanize them. The eighth volume is a perfect capstone, offering a glimpse into the future of the characters we've grown to love. The English versions are widely available, and they're often stocked in the manga section of big bookstores. You can start and finish the entire saga without waiting for new releases.
I'm noticing a pattern in the replies, and it's correct. Three volumes. What I find more engaging to talk about is whether the spin-off's ending enhanced the main series for you. For me, it added layers to certain characters and events in 'My Hero Academia' that I wouldn't trade for anything. The final volume, especially, is a treasure trove of connections.
The connection is more about filling in the gaps in the main series' timeline than providing a direct lead-in. We see what All Might's heyday looked like from the ground, we see the early careers of several pros, and we see the development of support tech and hero regulations. All 15 volumes contribute pieces to that historical puzzle.
The only exception to the 'volume order' rule is maybe the extra chapters or side stories, but those are usually included in the relevant volumes anyway. So the rule still stands.
The collected volumes are the definitive, in-order experience. Anything else is just scattered chapters. Publishers spend a lot of time deciding what goes in each volume to create a satisfying reading experience. We should probably trust them on this one.
Just chiming in to confirm the consensus: 15. I'm re-reading it now, and you can really see the careful plotting. Foreshadowing in volume 3 pays off in volume 12, that kind of thing. It was clearly planned as a finite story, which is why Koichi's arc feels so coherent and complete.
