Not the old-school dubious stuff, but where the negotiation itself is part of the heat. Watching characters articulate their desires and set boundaries, and then seeing those boundaries get tested within the agreed-upon framework—that creates a different kind of tension.

It's intellectual and visceral at the same time. You're invested in the trust as much as the attraction. When a character submits, you know exactly what they're getting out of it because the story took the time to show the discussion. The thrill comes from the precision and the care, not from ambiguity. The vulnerability feels earned and safe, even when the acts themselves are intense.
