The Knights Revenge
The lake had tiny waves dancing on the surfaces, the birds were flying and there was a serene relaxation as the wind blew through the chimes.
Jasper eventually closed the book, it was a slow movement as he gently placed it together and put it on the bench next to him.
”I know who wrote it,” he said.
”Who?”
”My great-great-grandmother. She lived in a little village with her parents and siblings. She met the love of her life and they had two children, a daughter, and a son. Her name was Mary, she had a premonition one day, she knew the risks her family would face if she chose to tell the others in her village. It was an attack by the creatures who haunted them, she saw how they burnt the houses and killed the people. Old and young alike. So she hid her family, her husband refused to leave her but someone needed to look after the children. Her daughter was sixteen at the time and said she would look after her brother. Mary went on to tell the village about the upcoming attack and as she presumed, they wrote her off as a witch. They burned her and everyone stood around and watched as it happened. Her husband tried to
save her but he was killed, stabbed three times. Her daughter had hidden but saw everything unfold. After the fire around her died out, they came. They slaughtered every last of them, vampires. Her daughter had made it out before that and with her, she had her little brother. They made it to a neighboring village a few hours away and were taken in and given shelter. It was her daughter who wrote this book, her name was Lillian,”
