Bound by Sin: The Heir & His Stepmother

Bound by Sin: The Heir & His Stepmother

It was the perverse promise that, in this rotten world, I had a protector who would not hesitate. The storm had a name. And God forgive me, I still longed to get completely drenched in its rain.

Blood and Rain

Blood and Rain

The rain on the western ridge did not merely fall; it drove sideways, a relentless sheet of freezing highland water that turned the peat and heather into a thick, clinging mire. Tala stood perfectly motionless at the absolute precipice of the ridge, her feet dug firmly into the ancient earth. The storm howled around her, ripping at her clothes, but her spun-copper hair seemed to dance with a life of its own, vibrant against the dark, bruising gray of the sky. Her icy blue eyes were fixed on the valley below, tracking the glowing halogen headlights of Malakai’s heavy excavation armor as the machinery slowly ground its way toward the first sacred threshold.

A Promise Unfulfilled, a Lover Unreturned

A Promise Unfulfilled, a Lover Unreturned

Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, we could gaze down at the city's shimmering lights. Margaret sat quietly across from me in a long white dress. The light from the snow outside the window reflected off her face, making her beauty seem ethereal. To the strains of a lilting violin, I dropped to one knee. Margaret froze for a moment, her eyes filling with surprise and unease. "Margaret." I looked up at her and took her cold hand in mine. "Every day spent with you over these past few months has brought me immense joy. I want this happiness to last a lifetime. So, will you marry me?"

Promised to Another

Promised to Another

he comments. I followed him to the door as he talked. I was grateful that he wasn't going to push me to stay here longer. It felt weird to have anyone new in my space, and my last meeting with a boy in my room left me feeling awkward. "Just promise me one thing," he turns and looks at me. His eyebrows crease together with concern, and I hold my breath, hoping I can keep this promise. "You don't go looking for her without me. It's dangerous, and like I said, being empathic isn't my only gift, Nora. I know you know where she is," he says firmly.

A Reluctant Promise

A Reluctant Promise

Cold droplets of rain splashed against Dominic’s face, mixing with the warmth of his tears as they traced a path down his cheeks, soaking his clothes and the wound on his hand. Blood dripped again. The rain continued all through the night without a pause. When Valerie woke up, she thought she would have to cancel her plans for the day. But when she looked outside, the sky had cleared. She grabbed her phone and saw a message from Tiberius: [On my way to you.] She quickly got out of bed, packed, and hurriedly finished her preparations. By the time he parked, she was already waiting at the building entrance. The air after the rain was crisp and fresh. Having gone out for their morning exercises

His Promise Was Never Mine

His Promise Was Never Mine

"You do not have to thank me. I should be the one thanking you." I asked. "For what?" He answered, "For finally being willing to marry me." Outside the window, the moon was full. The silver bells moved in the wind, ringing softly in the night, as if they were laughing for us.

Broken Promises

Broken Promises

Walking outside I glanced up at the sky, "it is supposed to get bad tonight." Brooke frowned, "yeah well it's not even raining right now so I don't want to hear it. Last time it was supposed to rain all day it was bright and sunny." I shrugged, "I was just making conversation." Brooke smiled sliding into the passenger seat, "well I was just saying." Pulling out of the driveway I glanced over at Brooke, "I'm so tired of rain, like ever since my phone drowned." Laughing Brooke clapped, "yes, I mean you didn't even get to use that damn phone. Did you ever get your money back?"

ahhhh!!!im really frustrated 'bout whats happening! i mean, i'll still be happy to see them both together at the end but rn, i would def love to see Kennedy see someone else you know just to give Seth a dose of his own med and just to let him know that he's not the only one in there!?!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. With the many statements as: "I made a face/frowned/cut my eyes at" – it irked me lol. But very good nonetheless. Kennedy was strong headed but also stubborn, Seth was annoying in some scenes and never thought about anyone else until it was convenient for him.
