When it was time for us to leave in the morning, I was beginning to feel reticent. My heart was back with Ember but there was nothing that I could do only to get her to come back with me. At least I had to make sure that certain things were put in place before returning to fight for her.

Unbeknownst to anyone, I had scouted the house to know the easiest places to penetrate. One of the greater mistakes that Trent made was allowing me into his house and that was one of the reasons that made me tarry.

"Your ex-wife has been staring at me like I had wronged her. I don't know what you see in her." Ellie whispered unto me, cutting me out of my thoughts. I was pissed by that untimely interruption. What nonsense was that? I didn't tell her that I needed anything from her.
