CHAPTER FOUR

Note: Major Time Jump Ahead.

Sylvie and her Aunt arrived back home, both settling down to discuss the situation inside the living room.

“What are your plans for this pregnancy?” She grilled in a serious tone, looking her in the eyes to read any withheld information.

“I have no other option, abortion is my only choice.” She cried out, gazing up at her Aunt with her muddled face drenched in tears.

“No!” She sifted over to her side, taking a hold of her palms and squeezing it together with hers. “That is not your only option, you can chose to birth them and take care of them. You can’t just kill three innocent babies.” She reasoned with her, serving as the emotional human guide she needed.

Sylvie took her words in, she really can’t murder three innocent babies because of her mistakes. That’s just cruel.

“B- But can I survive this?” She asked, actually scared with her tone shaky and body trembling.

“You will, and I will be by your side all through everything. And together, we’ll take care of the little ones, I made a promise to your mother that I’d look after you. This is the right time for me to act on that promise.” Her palm left hers, coming up to touch her cheek as she wiped off the tears staining the surface.

“Thank you so much, Aunt Marla.” She weeped into his hand. “Thanks.” She uttered with tenuity.

~Several Months Later~

“Oh my God!” She gasped as she felt a cold pain striking her back, she arched her back instantly, her big round and wide stomach pushed forward.

“Aunt Marla!” She screamed, becoming breathless as the pain returned, “Ah!” Her eyes shut tight, her system contrasted sharply and she could feel herself burning out from the inside.

Her aunt came into the scene, knowing exactly what is going on, “I will get my purse, hold on tight.” She told her, running back inside to obtain the mentioned item before returning.

“Sorry!” She chanted the word repeatedly as she escorted her into a cab.

The ride to the hospital was inadvertently slow and painful for Sylvie as she kept aging the pain racking her body all over.

“We’ll soon be there, keep it up and tight okay. Sorry darling.” Her aunt pat on her shoulder, ensuring her while taking glances ahead.

They arrived at the hospital finally, and Sylvie was brought in and settled straight to a laboring room. Nurses and a doctor went in to attend to her and bring her to delivery.

Aunt Marla had to turn back as she was made to stay outside.

She stood by a bench in the hallway, muttering prayers and hoping for a successful outcome with her niece in labor.

She went through a lot during the pregnancy months, it’s only fair everything comes out successful at the end.

After some time, the door opened. The doctor in charge of Sylvie coming out with a wide smile expressed on his face.

Marla understood at once he came bearing good news.

“How are they all?” She asked the doctor, sniffing in tears of joy and relief.

“They’re all safe and okay. She’s calling for you, congratulations to you and your daughter ma’am.” He said to her, walking away afterwards.

Marla couldn’t argue with his assumption because it was pointless, he obviously believe Sylvie was her child.

Aunt Marla went into the laboring room, greeted by the wailing noise of the newborn babies.

Two babies were set in their mother’s arm as she breastfeed them, and the last was in a nurse’s care trying to get him to shut up.

“They’re so adorable.” Aunt Marla beamed, reaching over to collect the little child from the nurse, rocking her in her arms and instantly shutting her up.

“What are their names?” She asked, looking into the innocent electric blue eyes of the male wrapped in her arms.

“Aunt Marla, say hello to Bryce, Bryan and Bryanna. Little ones, say hello to your Aunt Marla, your godmother.” In a weak soft voice, Sylvie managed to introduce.

~Five Year Later~

“That’s mine! Mom, Bryce is bullying me again.” A tiny little voice called to their mother’s attention as she finished off with the receptionist.

“Bryce give your sister back her toy and play with your own. Do that and also apologize, be a good brother.” She turned to the five years old little boy, who has his lips pouted as he got scolded.

“Sorry Bry, I just wanted to check something out.” He said to her, returning the princess teddy bear.

“Mom when is Aunt Marla coming?” A quiet voice broke the descended silence, the voice belonging to the male who held the hand of his brother.

“Soon Bryan, soon.” Sylvie assured as she finally reached the entrance out of the airport.

She sighted her uber from afar, walking over to the spot where he parked immediately.

They arrived by the car, and Sylvie settled her kids inside. She turned to face the porter who assisted with her luggages, paying him up she mouthed him a thanks.

“Oh shit, can you please look after my kids. I forgot a bag inside. Please.” She implored in a hasty tone, pleading with the driver.

“Sure thing.” The man agreed.

“Okay kids, I will be right back. Behave and do not cause any trouble.” She made a warning sentence before turning around and dashing out of their sight.

Sylvie was in a hurry, running through the large crowd occupying the wide space of the airport as she bid to make it over to the ticket counter.

Her figure collided into a figure in front of her that brought her to a stop, “Ouch!” She moaned out, feeling the impact of bumping into the stone like body.

She stepped back, narrowing an inspecting look towards his back frame and raining silent curses at him.

The figure slowly turned around, eyes scouring down to the body bumping into him.

“Oh my!” Sylvie gasped, her palm that smoothen her forehead freezing as her entire system froze by his sight.

‘Mikel Addams!’ The name chanted in her mind, looking up at his well structured body in a suit.

He stared at her with confusion, wondering why she appeared stunned. “Who are you?” His cold voice rang out, tearing away the phone placed on his ear.

“And did you just touch me?” He questioned again, becoming irritated as his gaze turned vacant and vicious.
