Her heartbeat doubled as her thoughts failed her. Could she be dreaming? She hoped that was the case.
"Paxton, Paxton" she called him, tapping him on his shoulders lightly and when she got no reply, her fear took over her.
She finally found the courage to stand up and she looked down at Paxton.
"Noo!" she screamed crying! There was a gunshot wound close to his chest.
"Paxton!" she shook his violently, tears dripping from her eyes but she got no reply, he was lifeless.
She picked up her phone and thought of calling the ambulance but on a second thought, she couldn't do that, she'd be the only suspect, so she made sure she took everything that belonged to her and with a heavy heart, she walked briskly out of his house.
She walked as fast as her legs could carry her. She cared about Paxton, but she needed to save herself.
Entering a cab wasn't necessary, she walked home. Walking home was a way of relieving her of her thoughts and soon, she was home but seems like walking didn't help her
