My sleep got disturbed as the smell of kamudu pyre (Holika Dehen) hit my nostrils. I opened my eyes slowly with a wide smile on my face thinking about the day.
Today is one of my favorite festivals and that is Holi. I love it the most because it is a festival of colors that is celebrated in the spring season. The festival is all about a new beginning. It is celebrated to mark the victory of virtue over evil and to burn our internal evil in the holy pyre.
People throw dry colors at each other and each color symbolizes different things. Colors are also applied to make their life colorful and distribute sweets to fill their life with sweetness. On the day even enemies hug each other to clear all the misunderstandings and hate. The best part is that the festival is full of enthusiasm and zeal.
