As the car sped through the roads leading them from Portland Downtown Heliport to Willamette Valley, Brooklyn struggled to stay awake. With her stomach grumbling for food, it was a very difficult task. “We’ll be there in an hour. Do you want to stop for dinner?” Asked Nikolas at last. Brooklyn slowly shook her head, tired of his silence. How could a person not have any wish to talk was beyond her!
“Here, have this,” said Nikolas, taking out a box of chocolate truffles from his laptop bag for her to munch on. He had bought it for her earlier but after the phone call from the police leading to a sudden change of plans, he had completely forgotten about it.
