Brooklyn rushed out just in time to see Nikolas climb into his car. She ran and got into the passenger seat, breathing hard. Would he leave for work without her? “Sorry, I overslept,” she mumbled apologetically. Nikolas gave her an amused look. He wondered whether he was the cause of it!
