Hand in hand, Luke and Liam walked down the school grounds, people's eyes on them.
Some stared at them with approval, while some gave them a look of disapproval, others were just disinterested. They just went on about their day.
“Let's go on a date,” Liam suggested, a smile plastered across his face, “I've always wanted to go on a date with you.”
“I really want to.”
“But?”
“But, I really have to get to class,” Luke replied, “The semester is almost about to end, so I need to study to ace the exams.”
“Ugh!”
“And so do you.” Luke jabbed at his chest playfully, “Since you don't have basketball any longer, maybe it's time you took your studies seriously.”
“I don't want to study,” Liam said softly, avoiding the various eyes being thrown at him.
Luke halted and turned, “Wait, what do you mean?”
“Can I tell you at our date?” Liam asked, “Let's get out of here. People's eyes on us… it's so overwhelming. I think I'm gonna need a little lot of time getting used to it all.”
