I stepped out of the car, my pulse quickening with every movement. I opened the back seat and as soon as I unbuckled Liam, he jumped out of the car and ran towards Jamal.
Letting out a deep sigh, I turned around to see that Patrick had already parked his car behind me. I didn’t wait for him to get out of his car. I just walked to the front door.
“Hey.” My voice was barely above a whisper.
“Hey.” Jamal’s voice was cold.
I dragged a hand through my hair. “Patrick is here.”
“I can see that.” He responded, his voice flat. “Liam told me that you already introduced them to each other.” He added.
“Oh,” I muttered under my breath.
We looked at each other in silence as Patrick approached the front door. I was short of words because I wasn’t expecting Jamal to show up.
Plus, the situation was awkward.
I didn’t know what to do. Should I have sent one away and let the other inside the house? Or should I let everyone inside the house at once?
