Patrick’s POV
After my clandestine encounter with my assistant on my desk, I didn't see her for the rest of the afternoon. After all, we needed to work. And I worked with a huge smile on my face.
At the end of the day, I left my office and didn't see her sitting at her desk. She wasn't with Manu either.
"Manu, have you seen Lexie?" Manu looked at me, seeming very pleased with my curiosity.
"Your assistant, Pat?" Manu was teasing me.
"No, little Manu! My girlfriend. That beautiful woman with long black hair and two bright eyes, she also has gorgeous legs and a way about her that wins everyone over. Have you seen her?" Manu had an even bigger smile, amused by my good mood.
"She really does win everyone over, she's even won you over, hasn't she?" Manu laughed.
"She has!" I answered without thinking, and only after speaking did I realize what I'd said. "Yeah, she won me over!" Strangely, this admission was like releasing air after holding my breath for a while.
