Three days.
That’s how long it had been since Damien dropped me off with a curt nod and an unreadable expression. Three days of silence. Three days of waiting—not that I was waiting, of course. I wasn’t some desperate little girl clinging to crumbs of affection. But still... every time my phone buzzed, I hoped it was him.
It never was.
I shook the thought off and focused on the mirror in front of me.
Vivian’s room was quiet except for the occasional click of her heels pacing behind me. Her eyes scanned me like I was a weapon she was preparing for war. And maybe I was.
“Are you sure about this dress?” she asked, her tone flat but her brows arched.
I looked at myself again. Midnight black, sheer cutouts that left little to the imagination, and a plunging neckline that made even me blush for a second when I first tried it on.
“I’m not just sure,” I murmured, adjusting the fabric along my waist. “I’m certain. He needs to remember what he lost… right before I destroy him.”
