Emily's eyes widened at the news of the Alpha's impending arrival. What could he possibly want from her? Was he coming to verify that she was still breathing, or perhaps to finish what he started?
Anxious thoughts raced through her mind as she considered whether she should pretend to be asleep.

"I can't," Lois replied with a shake of her head. "I'm already in trouble with the Alpha. I don't need more."
"But you're my doctor!" Emily protested.
