Asher's POV
I popped the lid from the bottle of beer I was holding and took a greedy swig. Lately, nothing seemed to go as planned, it was like the city had turned against himself and Jasmine.
"Are you good?" Liam demanded, yet to uncork his bottle.
"I guess," I scoffed and found solace in yet another gulp of my beer. This was the second bottle I was having in less than thirty minutes and Liam was yet to take his.
After the sitting earlier today, he suggested that we hang out in a different place, not just my place or his. And so far, I doubt the benefit of the idea, because we just stared at each other and barely hummed.
"Let's talk about something else," He tried to get me in a better state.
I doubt that I would find interest in any topic that wasn't centered on winning the damn case or driving a knife through Sebastian's throat.
