Oh, no! I gasped.
It was like my whole world came tumbling, and flushed down the drain I bore with my bare hands... It felt so surreal, like a wild dream I desperately wished to wake up from.
How long has he been standing there? How much did he hear? Limp, I stood up, trembling to my bones. Now wasn't the time to get steady before acting, but rather act spontaneously before it got to a full-blown mess.
Dragging my weak feet along, I approached him slowly but steadily. He scoffed, looked from Rylee to me, and rushed out of the dining area with a few steps backward.
