Jasmine’s POV
I should be bothered about being unemployed because I have a family to care for and a whole lot of ambitions to accomplish, but I find myself thinking about home.
My body was right here with Emily, but my soul and mind were home. I longed to be with my father and most especially, get all of this over with.
“Mum?” Emily's tiny voice pulls me back to the real world.
I was swift enough to stop myself from yelping. Even though her voice was the softest and sweetest melody, it startled me.
“Yes, baby?” I pulled her to myself and wrapped her in my arms. "Speak to me darling, mum is all ears.” I promoted her.
Oddly, she drew closer, her pretty bulgy eyes were on me, scanning my face with scrutiny, and her brows furrowed seconds later, with her lips formed in a pout.
"Why are you crying?" She wiped my moist cheeks with her little palm.
