Maria's POV
ONE MONTH LATER
My whole life has changed here and even though everyone worshipped me and treated me well, I was still confused. I had a lot of questions that I needed answers to but wasn't getting them. Roy was out now and he lived with me. Having him around greatly improved my mood and unlike the other adults that I have had to deal with all my life, Roy was an amazing child.
"So, are you really leaving?" he asked me for the umpteenth time, and I knew that he was just as nervous as I was.
"Tomorrow. It's already late, you should go to sleep" I said to him, trying to cajole him to bed.
"I don't want to sleep yet. Let me stay with you for a little while longer" he said as he knew that I had been keeping late nights for over two weeks.
Eliot had traced a side of my mother's family to the north and today was the day that I had decided to move forward in my future by knowing what is in my past. Even though the decision was tough, I had to make it for my own good.
