I stepped outside and found Owen standing with Vanessa and Danny, talking with his back to me. Vanessa saw me coming but feigned a total lack of interest as I snuck up behind Owen and threw my arms around him. He didn’t miss a beat and just brought me around in front of him and wrapped his arms around me, too.
“How’d you know it was me?” I asked him. As I looked up into his eyes, he bent down and planted a kiss on my forehead.
“For one, I knew it better be only you bold enough to throw her arms around me like that. Secondly, you are not lightfooted, my love. And before you get your panties in a twist, no I am not insinuating anything negative. You just have a tendency to stomp when you walk.”
“I do not!” I gasped, looking to Vanessa for denial but she had scrunched her face up and Danny was looking anywhere but me. “Do I?”
She nodded her head. “Sometimes.” She admitted, siding with Owen.
“Boo,” I said, sticking my tongue out at her. “Traitor!”
She laughed as Danny wrapped his arm aroun
