Shadowfang's Curse
The air was thick with smoke, Screams echoeing through the night. The packhouse, the heart of Shadowfang, was crumbling. Growls and snarls tore through the air and Ronan could only watch. Around him, Shadowfang warriors were falling. "Ronan!" Mira grabbed his arm. "We have to go!" He barely heard her. His gaze was locked on a familiar figure standing near the fire, CELESTE. Her eyes caught his, and she smiled a slow, knowing curve of her lips. She had always known. Mira dragged him toward the treeline, locking onto another figure standing beyond the battlefield. ROOK. He stood completely untouched by the bloodshed, face unreadable. Mira shoved Ronan toward him. "Take him! Protect him! I need to find the others!" Rook gave a slow, almost amused exhale. "When have I ever not protected him?" Mira ran back into the flames. Ronan stood swaying, The fear that had been creeping up his spine finally reached his throat, and with effort, he managed to whisper a single word. "Why?" Rook exhaled softly, almost like he was in pain. Then, he stepped closer, pressing a hand against the back of Ronan's head, fingers threading through his hair. "I'm sorry, Princess." Pain exploded at the base of his skull, and the world went black.

The moonlight barely cut through the thick branches, casting uneven shadows over the clearing. It was clear this conversation had been going on for a while."I don't care what happens to anyone else. No one is allowed to touch him," Rook said, his voice low but leaving no room for argument. The hooded figure swallowed hard. "That... that might be a little tricky."Rook raised an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly. "Does it look like I'm asking?"The figure let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of their neck. "N-no, of course not. I just... you know, things happen. Accidents, I mean, I'm not saying it will, but.."Rook took a slow step forward, his jaw tightening. "He got hurt today," he said, voice low but thick with restrained fury. "Do you have any idea what that felt like? Watching it happen and not being able to stop it?" In one swift motion, he grabbed the front of the figure's cloak

Chapter: Chapter two: Ronan must not find out about thisFrustration burned in Ronan's chest as he stormed away from his house, his mother's words still echoing in his mind. He knew she meant well, she always did but it didn't make things any easier. His father shutting him out was nothing new, but this time, it felt different.Without even realizing it, he found his feet taking him to Rook's place. His best friend's cabin was smaller than the Alpha's home but warm and welcoming, nestled between two towering pines. The moment Ronan knocked, the door swung open.Rook took one look at his face and sighed. "Let me guess. You went to your dad for answers, and he gave you nothing?"Ronan scoffed, stepping inside. "Less than nothing. He shut me down before I could even ask a real question. my mom? Just told me to trust him."Rook motioned for him to sit by the fireplace, where the fire burned cozily. He flopped into the chair across from Ronan and rested his arms on his knees. "Look, I get why you're pissed. But maybe it's one of those things tha
