The knife that the assassin threw at the stranger inside the motel room missed its mark. Thing is, he expected it to since he knew how fast and agile his attacker is.

The man sitting in the dark part of the room shoots while in the middle of standing then sidestepping the throwing knife that was aimed at his heart.
