61-Goodbyes

I stood behind the double glass doors with my hands folded and watched the rain fall. It was right after breakfast. I was still in my pajamas and gown. I mean, why look good when you won’t be going anywhere? I just combed my hair back, didn’t even tie it up or anything. I watched the rain pour and pour. It felt therapeutic, made me feel calmer. I don’t know how long I stood there but when my room door opened, I was brought back to the room. Standing alone, staring out at the rain like some psycho.

Probably one of the maids, coming to do my bed or clean the room. I heard her footsteps enter the room and lock the door. The footsteps got closer. Someone wrapped their arms around tightly. It was Yoké. I could feel him and smell him. I smiled as he put the side of his face against mine. We were both now staring out at the balcony.

“What are you doing?” He asked me.

“Nice view, right?
