Nobunaga had his men build the Azuchi castle in Omi Province. Before we could settle there, Nobunaga requested for her sister Oichi to marry the daimyo of Omi, Azai Nagamasa as a sign of an alliance. It was purely political but surprisingly Oichi was okay with it.
I was invited to the war council again. It seemed Nobunaga trusts my judgment and would frequently call me to attend to hear my opinion.
"Do we have word from our scouts about Yoshimoto?" Nobunaga asked.
"They have been silent for a while my lord." Masahide responded. They won't attack just yet; not until Ieyasu will come of age and take control of the Matsudaira clan. They will join forces for a while until Nobunaga is able to weaken the Imagawa clan then Ieyasu will know what to do.
"It'll take a few years before they will make their move." I blurted out. I immediately covered my mouth. All eyes were on me. Me and my big mouth.
"What do you mean milady?" Masamune asked. I should just gl
It’s already been a year and Nobunaga’s goal is slowly coming into fruition. If I remember correctly, it’ll be this year that the Battle of Okehazama will take place.
The preparation for the march to Kiyosu Castle was almost complete. I was worried about Nobunaga’s numbers. As far as I know, Yoshimoto will be able to round up at least 25,000 troops for his army. Nobunaga currently only has 3,000 in his army. The odds aren’t in Nobunaga’s favor that’s for sure.
I know I promised Nobunaga that I would stay in Zensho-ji but I lied. The moment they start their march, Hideyoshi and I will follow closely. I don't know what will happen if Nobunaga will find out but I'll deal with the consequences myself. I just have to make sure that Hideyoshi won't get in trouble. After all, this is my plan. He's just here to keep me safe.
The battle at Okehazama had ended. Yoshimoto was killed and his troops surrendered to the Oda clan. After the battle, Ieyasu came to Zensho-ji and pledged his loyalty towards Nobunaga in front of his whole troops as well as Nobunaga’s army.“Do you still reme
I agreed to Nobunaga’s idea about marrying off children to the other clans to form an alliance without bloodshed. But instead of the children that I’ve been raising, he promised to adopt children of the right age to marry off into those clans. Morally, I don’t agree with this but I have no choice. Even before, to be historically accurate, Nobunaga did marry off his children to the other clans to form an alliance and also to solidify his power over the other daimyos.
Ieyasu and I went to a nearby tea house. I wanted to ask him about his life after everything that happened. We sat in front of each other and Hideyoshi was next to me. As the tea was being served, I looked at him and observed the changes. He’s grown up so much since the last time I saw him.
Recently, I haven’t been doing anything in particular. The days seemed to last longer and truthfully, I’ve become bored. Nobunaga is always busy working on his goals and there’s nothing for me to do yet. I’ve spent most of my days with the kids but Nobunaga decided that they should start their training early so I’ve been alone most of the time now.
Oichi has been visiting me occasionally. I’ve been having a lot of fun spending time with her but whenever she’s not here, I’m back to being bored and doing nothing. It’s been pretty peaceful lately which was such a breath of fresh air. Ever since I got here, I’ve been thrown into different battles and wars. It’s nice to have this kind of peace once in a while.
