Maverick had come to grips with the fact his wife was desirable to nearly every man who met her. Scar was extremely rare in their world. She never held back when she did something. People always flocked to her side when she was present. It had nothing to do with the money they had either. That was just something he had realized early in their relationship.

Men wanted her. She always turned them down quickly. The rumors that Maverick’s father had started still plagued around her and him even though they were made years before. Maverick also had to deal with them and had to fend women off of him. It seemed that a secure marriage in their circle was almost unheard of.

People had often had questions about all of their children. Though some looked like him and were fair and pale, some of the others looked like her. The looks of the children that combined the two parents were striking, and they both knew they would prove to be trouble. Scar was their prim
