The gunshots that rang through the air reminded me of the night when everything came crashing down and my life was never the same. Tears fell down my face and my bottom lip quivered. My knees buckled beneath me and if it wasn’t for Octavious’ body standing flush behind mine, I would’ve either blown myself backwards or fell to the floor because I couldn’t stand.

“Octavious…” I moaned out in a voice thick of sleep as I searched around the massive bed for Octavious. I wanted him to prepare some breakfast for me because I didn’t feel like getting out of bed for the next lifetime. He had worked me over time yesterday, not from sex, but from the gun.
