Chapter 03 - Meeting with her crush

Chapter 03 - Meeting with her crush

Everyone was just staring at them when Song Mido came to her.

Mido got furious seeing him flailing on the cake. Clenching her jaw, she glared at the Rong with her dragon-looking eyes.

"How dare you ruin Shaoqing's expensive suit? Do you even know the cost?"

"How much does it cost?"

"$10000. Can you pay it, stupid girl?"

She choked in the air while hearing its price. Gently speaking, she bowed her head. "I'm sorry, Sir. I didn't know you were coming. Please, forgive me."

Wrapping her hands, Mido scoffed. "Huh? Do you think an apology can save you?"

Shaoqing was a man of a very calm nature. He was getting annoyed by this drama.

"It's okay, Mido. Leave it."

Though he forgave, Mido was not ready to leave Rong alone.

"No way. This girl should pay for it."

She was trying her best to humiliate Rong when Li He came to them.

"Stop it, Song Mido. She apologized already."

Seeing Li He so close, her gaze couldn't move away from him. He was adding fuel to her anger as she rolled her eyes, again bickering.

"Li He, you should not stand for her."

"It's just a piece of cake. Why are you making it like a big drama?"

Turning back, he held Rong's hand and dragged her out of the party while everyone remained stunned.

.......................................

Standing near his car in the parking load, he offered her a bottle of water as she took it. "Thank you so much for helping me."

Flashing his beautiful smile, he replied. "It was not your fault. Just my friend makes it look huge."

"Your friend?"

"Yeah, Song Mido is my childhood friend. She has always been like that since childhood. Don't mind her, please."

As he shifted his gaze to her, he noticed the blood bleeding from her knee.

"Your knee?"

Gazing down, she chuckled. "It's okay. It will be alright soon."

"No way."

He grabbed her arm while making her sit on the car seat.

"If you leave it open, it can cause infection."

He opened the trunk of his car and brought a medical kit while squatting down.

Opening the box, he took out a cotton ball and cleaned her wound.

"Is it hurting?"

Pressing her lips, she tried to hide that smile. "N-not at all. You're so kind."

"It's not a big deal," he replied while putting a bandage on her bruise.

Li He was always kind to others, and that impressed Rong the most.

While standing up, she thanked him as he just nodded.

"Well, I have to go now. I'll meet you later."

"Later? Oh, sure, Mr. Li He."

In fact, she wanted to ask for his number, but that would only make her look like a stupid fangirl.

Rong waved her hand as he drove his car and disappeared from her sight.

Her eyes got softened, and her cheeks were pink. "Today is my luckiest day. I met my crush. Aww!"

As she was busy fangirling, Yao Yao called her name out. "Cong Rong?"

Turning back, her smile faded away. "I'm so sorry, sister Yao. I ruined everything."

Checking on her, she smiled. "It's okay as long as you're okay. Did you get hurt somewhere?"

"No, sister Yao. I'm all fine."

"Well... How about we go back?"

"Hmm!"

..............................................

After she left Sister Yao in the bakery, she immediately ran towards the office. Even though her knee hurt, she knew she was too late.

As soon as she entered, she saw her senior. A smile appeared on her lips as she greeted her. "Good morning, Ms. Lu."

Showing her wristwatch, she giggled. "It's afternoon already, dear. Best of luck cause director Xia is furious about you."

"Oh?"

...................................

In such a way, she climbed the stairs and reached the top, but everyone warned her about Director Xia's anger as if her work was over this time.

She gulped down her saliva and calmed herself before knocking on his door. "It's okay, Cong Rong. You can do it."

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A voice came from inside as while shivering, she opened the door and went inside.

"Director Xia, you were looking for me?"

He threw a bunch of papers on the table harshly, making a loud sound. That sent chills down to her spine.

With an unfriendly smile on his face, he turned back. "Oh my god, Ms. Rong finally got time to meet me. I'm so blessed to have your time."

With her trembled chin, she flashed an awkward smile as he asked her to sit. "Please, grant me to ask you to take a seat."

"Director Xia, I'm sorry."

"TAKE A SEAT!"

Flinching on her spot, she quietly sat down when he again smiled. "What do you want to excuse about coming late for the fiftieth time in this month?"

"Director Xia, I got an emergency on my way."

"Yes! Yes! And as the superheroine of this planet, you went to help. Am I right, Ms. Rong?"

She could feel the embarrassment even to her heart. Lowering her head, she quickly apologized. "My bad for not coming early. I'm sorry, Director Xia."

"Oh, Ms. Rong. It's okay. Let's talk about your fifth rejection. What are you going to say for this one?"

"I- I tried my best, but..."

Cutting her words off, he commented. "But there was no improvement at all, right? We supported you always. But remember, we're not here for charity."

Seeing her being nervous, he sighed. "Cong Rong, you're an amazing writer. But we can't always grant you chances, right? Ms. Lu stands for you this time. Otherwise, the board community already decided to end the contract. They decided to give you a chance."

Upon hearing it, she lifted her head and glanced at him with her hopeful eyes. "Really, Director Xia? Thank you so much. I'll give my best this time."

Seeing her dedicated eyes, he hummed. "You have to work hard to cherish this last chance. But there is a condition for you, Cong Rong."

She had a confident smile on her face. "What is it, Director Xia? You know I can do anything to be a good writer."

"Yes, we understand your feelings. And that's why we grant you the last chance because you have dedication for writing. Though this time, the board community wants something else from you."

"What do they want?"

Pausing for a while, he finally let it out. "They want you... to change your genre."
