37. Coming Clean with Edward and Marilyn

"Mom, Dad, I'm pregnant."

Yep, that's how we Sinclairs greet each other after a long absence.

Unlike other people who would normally say hello, or ask how do you do, I decided to confess immediately when I saw my parents in the living room. The same parents who had accepted my feeble apology after I ran out from my own wedding, causing them to endure public humiliation.

Perhaps I am finally embracing the spoiled rich kid persona as what the media have labelled me to be. I suppose you could say that the new me is a big fan of theatrics because there is nothing quite like dropping a bomb right smack in front your parents faces and watching their pleasant expressions contort into pure shock.

So wicked were my thoughts that I half expected my dad to suddenly sprinkle me with holy water and exclaim dramatically, now that I have confessed, all my past sins are forgiven by the Lord.
