Chapter Fourteen

I surfed through the sea of students clustered here and there in the hallway till I got to the washroom.

I closed the creamy white panel door behind me while I walk to the ceramic washbasin which is embedded into the timeless beige painted wall, right below the screwed-in long rectangular wall mirror.

I turn on the tap, splashing some water on my face, hoping I could wash off my stupidity.

I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. I could have at least give him a reasonable reply and not just stare at him like some dumb girl whenever he tried striking a conversation with me. But that is inevitable. My heartbeat quickens whenever he's around, and I often find myself behaving like an idiot.

I jumped at the sound of the door opening because I wasn't expecting anyone to enter the washroom during this hour. 'Everyone is supposed to be in class, listening to lectures,' I thought.
