Chapter 22

I was half-running just to get back quickly in the company building as I don’t want to anger her more. I acted all cocky yesterday with my conversation with Venus because there’s a contract involved. But here I am now, acting like a goddamn puppy who just got scolded by his master.

“Fuck!” I cursed angrily after seeing that the private lift isn’t available ASAP for me as it is currently on the sixth floor, heading to the twenty-fifth. Since I don’t have a choice, I took the stairs and run up to the first floor to use the common elevator.

Employees were scattered and crowding the hallway, waiting for their turn to use the lift.

“Good morning, Sir!” They greeted and I smiled to acknowledge them. I then glanced at the elevator panels and saw that one of the lifts are almost on their way down.

“Good morning. Is it okay for me to cut in the line? I’m really in a hurry right now.”
