Ace’s Past

e reached back the hotel on a happy note. 

 

We headed straight to Waeska, the bar of the hotel, to have dinner and get a few drinks. 

 

When we entered the bar, it was warm so both of us removed our coat and hung it on the coat stand. I had almost forgotten that I was wearing a skin-tight dress beneath. 

 

"You really are breath-taking," Ace whispered near me before taking my hand towards a table for two.

 

I asked Ace to get me a non-alcoholic drink only to find out there was none. I ordered Calamansi, a cocktail of Grey Goose vodka, Muyu Chinotto, calamansi, vanilla butter, passionfruit, and beetroot. It did not look as bad as the rest of the cocktail on the menu. 

 

Ace ordered the Devil's Claw, a cocktail of Bombay Sapphire gin, Perrier-Jouët Champagne, Ginjo sake, Pandan and devil's claw tincture.

 

The cocktails here honor the ethnobotany concept and the drinks all had medical properties.
