"We can't expect everyone to understand us, little sis."

He's right but this pain is unbearable.

"Have you seen Dad? Is he okay?" I asked.

"Yes, he's okay. You don't need to worry." He replied and paused for a minute.

" How's this possible, Leona? I know you wouldn't go and do something that will hurt our family so what happened?"

"I'm just as clueless, Ray. Although everything seems to be working against me now, I am certain about one thing."

"Which is?" His brows raised curiously.

"I'm not pregnant and I'll prove it tomorrow."

"Great! I'm glad there's a way. Come let's go home."

"Which home?" Tasha has warned me not to go because my dad won't be happy.

"Our home." He answered boldly.

"Tasha said.."

"Forget about that witch. I am here." He took my hand and we left.

He made me feel protected.

                   DAVE

"How was it, Dave? Is she pregnant yet?"

"How'd I know? I think you should ask her yourself after all you're the one who chose her for me." I snapped.

I don't know why my mom will call to ask me a question as silly as this. She knew it would definitely irritate me.

"Alright, I'll ask her  but if it wasn't successful, then..."

"Then I won't do it again," I interjected over the phone.

"What are you saying, Dave? You know how much that child will mean to your dad and me."

"That's the point. You and Dad. Now how does that benefit me enough for me to make such a sacrifice?"

"It's your grandfather's company. Which means yours. We're doing this for you, Dave."

"I don't know mom, but I'm tired of doing the same thing with all the girls you bring almost every month."

"If only you had a girlfriend, then we wouldn't have to go through all this trouble to get one for you."

"Cut it out! Go ask that bitch you chose if she's pregnant or not and leave me be." I hung up angrily.

That was harsh but mum deserves it for always frustrating me with child issues.

I had expected her to show a little concern but no. Acquiring her father's property was more important to her.

Where was her when grandfather was gambling it away for her to caution him?

I'm Dave Anosova, the only son of my parents and currently managing the Anosovan company as the CEO.

My entire life, all the women I ever liked turned out to be gold diggers. None was real. All they wanted was my money.

I have long stopped dealing with those creatures to focus on my company instead. It doesn't mean I don't get a little fun if I wanted to.

I had just woken up from bed to Mom's call. She has managed to ruin my day. I walked out to the balcony in my shorts and stared down at busy New York. The view here is exquisite.

With the weekend starting today, I hope to get some work done in the afternoon then have some fun later in the evening.

As beautiful as mom's choices were, I didn't do anything physical with them. And I am glad none got pregnant. I hope this one, which I consider mom's last card, also doesn't get pregnant. It will save me from a lot of troubles and  Mom will eventually stop pestering me with baby issues.

But in case mom's last card gets pregnant, then I have to get engaged to her and marry her after the baby is born and that was the deal she made me sign.

I walked back into my room and opened my closet for something to wear when my door suddenly burst open to reveal my mom and behind her was a lady. The same lady who's supposed to get pregnant after I donated my semen.

Wait. Mom couldn't have driven here so fast even if she teleported. It only means she called when she was close to my house.

"Seriously, do you have to barge in just like that?" I took a shirt out, throwing it over my head.

"I had no choice, son."

"What could be so urgent?" I asked.

"I have good news." She beamed.

My brows quirked. Good news? It can be only one thing.

"It worked. Katherine is pregnant."

I looked at her and the lady behind her who was busy staring back at me.

So her name is Katherine?

"Ok," I mumbled and walked past them out of my room. I feel as if mom has succeeded in trapping me.

"Is that all you have to say?" Mom followed me.

"What else do you want to hear?" I  walked down the stairs. I feel defeated to be expecting my baby from a lady I have zero knowledge about and a lady I didn't love.

"Don't tell me you've forgotten the deal we made?" She panicked.

"How can I forget when you've been digging it into my ear all the time?"

"Alright then.."

I know where she's heading to. Mom must have come prepared.

"Let her put the ring on, herself.  I have no time to do that." I stopped in the living room and waited for them to join.

I walked to mom and stretched my palms. She placed two rings in it. They are beautiful. Only God knows the fortune she has to waste on them.

She gives me a nylon bag and I raised a questioning brow. She came well prepared as I guessed.

"Go and change, son. We have to make this a proper engagement."

I hope that doesn't mean I have to kneel before the Katherine lady.

"Are you serious mom?"

"Your mom is not a comedian to start now."

I sighed and took the bag reluctantly. I opened the bag to see a three-piece suit with matching trousers.

Right in front of them, I took off my shirt to dress into what she brought.

"Happy?" I asked after dressing up.

"Very." She squeals with a clap.

A mother I have.

I motioned for the Katherine lady to step closer. "Your hand."

She nervously brought it up and once I slipped the ring on her finger, I wore mine.

"What you did is not acceptable, Dave," Mum complained.

" I don't know about that but you should be glad that she didn't put the ring on herself but I did." I took the new suit off.

My eyes fell on the lady when I noticed her eyes on me.

"Is that how you treat someone who's carrying your baby?"

"Don't drag this, mom. And will you please take her outta my sight?"

I heard the lady gasped.

I looked back at her and rolled my eyes.

"Don't mind him, Kathie, I believe he'll come around." Mom consoled her.

So she can also be called Kathie? Which is which? Isn't this amazing? I don't even know the person who's going to give birth to the heir of this family.

Not only an heir.

My mom's late dad who's my grandad gambled on his company and it was seized and until mom has a grandson, the company won't be returned. That's why she's bent on finding a baby mama for me.

"Okay, so you guys are engaged formally. Congratulations son."

"Thank you, Mom." I played along and hugged her.

"Now please, get her outta here. And don't think I'm trying to flee away from my responsibilities. She's my responsibility. I didn't forget that. I'm going to take care of her till the baby is born.."

"Wow son, I can't believe you are saying all this. I thought..."

"Let me conclude first before you jump to your own conclusions, mother. I'll take care of her but she won't stay at my house. Let her stay with you and dad or wherever that pleases her but not with me." I remarked and walked back to the stairs.

"And one more thing" I stopped and turned to them.

" She has no rights on me and should never try being clingy. I hate it!" With that, I walked back to my room leaving them downstairs.

With the help of Raymond, I managed to sneak into my room without the three girls noticing.

My night was tortured. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened and what will happen to me. I could sense trouble lurking around.

Early the next morning, I got out of bed and rushed to the washroom to check if my period came.

I'm supposed to have my menses today and I am sure about it because I never miss my period. It's either a day earlier or a day later.

My heart was beating so fast as I got to the bathroom.

God. I closed my eyes in prayer.

Then I raised my nightdress and dragged my panties down to check whether I had already stained my pants.

I dragged it until my pants reached my knees before I peeped.

"OMG!"
