Chapter 7. Shoot

Iris felt a hot sensation from the scar Jonathan had been sliced. She saw that demon who became her master walking towards the room's door. She immediately got up and took the blanket to cover her body.

"What about my request?" Iris pressured him not to break his promise. But Jonathan paid no heed to her question.

"Put on your clothes, Ana." He rebuked while glancing with his scary eyes.

Iris was stunned for a moment. She couldn't stop watching him as he picked up the bottle of her blood on the carpet. She hastily put on his proper clothes and stood up to approach him.

Jonathan turned and locked her gaze again.

"Stand behind me." He gave orders again.

Iris complied obediently and stood right behind him. But Jonathan pushed her gently to keep her away from a little.

"Too close." He said in a low voice. Iris smiled awkwardly as she brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Sorry."

And when Jonathan opened the door, the sound of bullets whiz was heard blindly. A frightened Iris immediately pulled Jonathan's jacket and took cover there.

"Oh god! What happened?"

Iris shrieked loudly without realizing that Jonathan in front of her was just standing while trying to pull the jacket that she was pulling.

"Take off my jacket. Ana!"

"No!" Iris shook her head unwillingly. She uses Jonathan, who is immune to bullets, for taking cover.

"Iris! Take cover! I'll take care of this demon first!" Tommy shouted, shooting the demon professionally.

But unfortunately, the demon who confronted Tommy managed to repulse him. All the bullets that Tommy fired had no impact on the demon's body.

"Enough! I don't like interacting with lowly creatures like you." Said that devil was furious.

He caught Tommy's hand and then threw it like a baseball against the wall. Iris widened her eyes in shock when she saw how insane the demon's power was.

"TOMMY!"

Iris immediately approached Tommy without thinking. She couldn't imagine if the devil could have such power. Immune to gunfire too.

She checked his condition, who was groaning in pain while coughing hard. With a shaking back, she picked up the gun that Tommy was still holding.

"Get away from us!" Iris' words made Tommy lose his pride as a man. He even saw her holding his gun with trembling hands in fear.

Iris herself was scared right now and knew very well that the gun in her hand wouldn't be able to kill the demon.

"Low creatures like you are always bothering us. You should just accept your destiny as our slaves." The demon said as it continued to draw closer to her.

Iris's breath gradually became short as the demon was precisely one step ahead of her. Tommy tried to get up even though his body ached to death.

"GET AWAY FROM US!" Iris screamed more frantically.

"SHOOT!" Tommy shouted to tell her to shoot the demon.

Iris couldn't dare pull the trigger even though the bullet was sure to hit him at such close range. But the problem was that she had never shot before.

And the object standing in front of her was also human. For God's sake, she couldn't possibly shoot someone with a gun.

"I-I can't!" Iris felt her arms go limp. The devil in front of her chuckled a little, then squatted down while touching her chin.

"Why didn't you shoot me? Afraid your bullet missed?" The demon asked in a scornful tone.

Iris closed her eyes tightly. She felt the demon's hand touch her hand that was still holding the gun. The approaching devil allowed Tommy to attack.

He pulled out a knife from under his jacket to attack the demon. But his movement was stopped quickly because the demon threw him again until he rolled onto the table.

"Tommy! Oh god...."

"I'll take care of you later after this woman." His words were full of threats.

Iris's teeth trembled as she stared into the demon's shining eyes. She couldn't control her own hands. She glanced back at Tommy, whimpering in pain as he tried to crawl across the floor to reach her.

"Shoot... Iris... Shoot!" His hiss was still struggling to fight back.

"Yeah, right. Shoot, Iris. Shoot here." Said the demon while aiming the gun she was holding right at her heart.

Iris shook her head a few times. She had tried to pull the trigger, but her human conscience held her back. She prayed in her heart that she could survive this terrible incident.

Jonathan, standing still and staring at her, could only shake his head. Iris, he saw now, was entirely beyond his expectations.

"Ana-" Jonathan stopped when the bullets exploded.

Iris opened her eyes wide after she managed to pull the trigger. But as she expected, that shot wouldn't affect the demon.

"See? Nothing happened."

But as she inched backward, the demon fell silent and suddenly let out a painful roar while clutching its chest. She panicked and rushed over to Tommy and helped him to sit up.

"Arrrghhh!" The demon screamed in pain.

"What the hell is going on here?" Iris was confused and panicked. Because the devil's voice is terrible when he screams, Tommy held his chest as he stared at the demon with his piercing gaze.

"All the bullets I have I've covered with my blood. Unfortunately, I couldn't shoot right into the demon's heart." Tommy explained. Iris was amazed because she hadn't thought of such a thing before.

"You make me so... phew! Thanks for the surprise. Now, what do we do?" She shuddered at the demon's sight with its body limp like a dying person.

Tommy took out his cell phone and tracked someone via his cell phone's GPS.

"Soon, help will arrive," Tommy said, which immediately made Iris relieved.

"I'm glad you called 911 in time." Tommy looked directly at her for a moment with a concerned expression. But he shook his head and tucked his phone into his jacket again.

"Now he's the one we have to deal with." Tommy pointed at Jonathan.

Iris also looked at him and saw that the damn demon was just sitting there doing nothing. Even though he had promised her to kill the demon, now instead, she and Tommy are fighting hard against him.

Then why did she receive the title of an enslaved person? Unfair. But it couldn't be helped. She was too stupid to believe the demon.

"Give me your bullet again. Maybe I can shoot him a few more times." Tommy rolled his eyes lazily. Is he a gun shop?

"I don't have bullets anymore. What do you think I've been doing here? Equestrian training?" Tommy said, getting annoyed with her. Iris herself immediately pushed him away from her.

"Oh, come on! Don't you have any other weapons? A water gun filled with blood or pepper spray." Iris asked in complete frustration with the situation. Tommy massaged his forehead in frustration too.

Jonathan put his hand on his hips, blinking his eyes a few times, trying to be patient with the behavior of the two humans.

He approached his colleague, still moaning in pain, near the sofa. His partner's eyes almost turned upside down when he saw him coming.

"John... help me." He groaned, grabbing his leg.

Jonathan himself crouched down and took out a glass tube filled with Iris's blood. With one flick, the cap and end of the glass bottle shattered. His partner glared in horror as he smelled the strong scent of the blood.

"What are you going to do, John? What the-"
