He stepped closer and she couldn't help but noticed that something has changed about him, it had nothing to do with his surprisingly wrinkled clothes or how humbled his eyes were. A one o clock stubble seemed strange on his perfectly shaven jaw and his eyes seemed almost dead, she choked on her spit horrified although the realization that he could be ruffled made him look less god and more like a man. A human.
He took another step forward and she could see his ruffled hair where his hand must have been on so many times in exasperation, frustration, or both. The tight line of his lips. The leaves on his shoes. The matching sleeping bags under his eyes yet somehow he looked devastatingly handsome and it felt unfair that he didn't even need to try at all to look that way.
She took a step backward as he took another and he stopped. "Please Maya, don't go away," he begged and tears burn her eyes at the pleading tone in his voice. The Xavier
Firstly, I want to apologise deeply for my failure to meet up with daily updates. I had a hard time writing this particular chapter because I had so many ideas of what I wanted to be said and not wanting to do too much. Anyways here you have it. It'll mean so much if you honestly tell me how you feel after this chapter because I did spend two days on it! Xoxo
"Where is Maya and how is she doing?" Tyler immediately asked Jared the minute he stepped into the Hall. The interior decorator was already removing the wallpaper and things in place they had used in making a part of the room look like a balcony and he was glad Tyler had spared him the stress of spelling out what they both knew already. Maya was in no mental or physical state to perform today and till further notice and it was only because of him, Tyler, and his stupid obsession with revenge. "If I didn't know better I'd have thought you cared for her and do not see her only as an important pawn in your plan to achieve your devious plan." Tyler looked hurt by his words and took a step backward like they were physical weapons because they did have the same impact of wounding him though not physically. "You know I do care about Maya. You know that." "Do I?" Jared hoarsely
Morphing into a sadist"Where is Maya?" Jared rushed towards him but he shook his head slightly. "She left. She left me." His words expressed raw pain but his eyes were blank, empty, cold. Jared recoiled. Now, this was the Xavier he had seen in high school, the golden boy that was rumored to be tortured. Tyler chuckled heartily but if Xavier heard him he didn't show. He slightly pushed Jared from his road and brought out his car keys, disengaged its alarm, and slowly walked towards it. "That's it?" Jared howled. Steam came out of his mouth even as he readjusted the neck scarf around his neck. The weather was way cold and it was suddenly becoming icy as Xavier turned to look at him. His eyes were blank, all emotions drained. He didn't look worried, helpless, happy, or sad. He didn't feel anything. "She doesn't want me." He curtly replied and then opened his car door. Jared watch
Two months later."I fulfilled the part of your request by not letting anyone know where you are but don't you think it is time to fulfill mine." Maya sighed softly even as she remembered that day she had run back home to grab a change of clothes unaware of where she was heading but knew she needed to get away. Ashley as usual has probed and asked, always curious and she didn't know when she had broken apart and told her she needed to get away. No questions asked Ashley had handed her keys to a condo in Boston and although she was tempted to ask her how she had an apartment there or why she didn't make there her residential area, she also didn't want to ask questions seeing that Ashley didn't. She had ran and hidden away wanting to sort her thoughts and had made Ashley promise not to tell anybody where she was. She adjusted her body on the Queen size bed, remembering how surprised she had be
6 seconds. That was how long she had stared at her reflection in the mirror before packing her things hurriedly in a duffel bag, calling a cab, and heading back home. Once upon a time, someone had once told her that whenever you get to a point in life and you can't look at your reflection in the mirror without looking away then you need to know you're being untrue to even yourself. She couldn't remember who had told her those words perhaps her mom or one of her friends but all that didn't matter, all that did was that she had hidden for too long and cried hard too. She needed to start being true to herself. She owes herself that much she thought. It was raining when Maya arrived at the penthouse she shared with the girls. The house was locked and even though she knew that a spare key was kept under the foot mat just in case, she couldn't bring herself to use it. It felt wrong disappearing for wee
She stared at the mirror for as long as she could remember. She saw a woman who had made mistakes, who had fallen in love deeply and greatly too. A woman who had friends turned family that had stood the test of time with her and were still standing. There were loopholes and errors but she didn't flinch or cringe. She wasn't ashamed of the woman she'd become.***Tyler sighed as Maya dropped her letter of resignation and turned to leave. He didn't even recognize his voice as he called her back. The past few weeks have been terrible for him. He was drowning in an ocean of guilt and it didn't help that Melissa has been calling him regularly and coming around to check up on him... Like he was family. Like she would her brother. Anger and pain never allowed him to see past Xavier Salvador and notice the immense love he was being showered by his family and now he was on the brink of losing it all, he was beginning to realize that Jared
The squeaky sounds of their boots as they approached the cemetery even as Xavier spared Maya a glance to be sure she was still there, that he had not been hallucinating all that had happened some hours ago. He had heard chatters inside the house which had alarmed him and woken him up from his catnap. He wasn't expecting anyone today and so found it strange that his housekeepers were conversing with someone so enthusiastically. Her back was towards him and yet his legs had suddenly gotten numb and forgotten how to function the minute he had set his eyes on her. He could tell it was her. There was only one woman he knew too well what her hair looks like, he could tell the length of her hair and how luster and soft it looks and the sound of her laughter that releases from her mouth as she was yet unaware of his presence as she discusses animatedly with his cook were no stranger to his ears and he wondered why he wasn't able to know that he was fucked
So guys, I had this book completed on my Wps document that was backed up to my drive. I woke up yesterday to find everything gone. I'm still in a state of shock and though I might come around to rewriting this work but be patient with me if updates come slower than expected as I'm literally in tears as lots of my documents are still missing. I'll try to like wait it out, and see if this is a system bug or just a huge joke because my life is a mess literally right now. Might drop updates tomorrow or next but definitely not today because I don't think I'm in a frame of mind to write anything having lost 300k+ work from three of my not nearly done book files also missing. I'll appreciate suggestions if anything like this has ever happened to you and how you resolved it because trust me everything in my life is a huge mess and I can't stop crying. I don't even know where to start from!!!
Maya smiled as she hung up. She had just gotten off the phone with Melissa who had informed her that they were at the airport and she could already hear an animated discussion or banter between Ashley, Jasmine, and Jessica in the background which wasn't at all a surprise. All the girls did when they were together was banter and argue continuously which could be tagged discussions depending on the way you look at it. Her birthday was a day after tomorrow and she had been moved by the gesture when Jasmine had remembered and suggested that they come around to make it memorable for her and she had agreed not only because she had missed them so dearly but because it is been three months of gazing at her phone screen wishing that Xavier name was on it but knowing she wouldn't know what to say if that happens and she desperately needed a distraction from thinking and pining for him. Three months of wondering why she had to open her dumb mouth and s
