Boyd POV
As we pull up to the Golden Moon Pack, I turn to look at my nephew Rafe. His father had decided it was time for Rafe to take more responsibility and start attending business meetings with me. I agreed it was time, but we had argued as to whether he should attend this meeting.
We had only signed our alliance with Golden Moon Pack a couple months prior. My idiot nephew had rejected the Alpha’s daughter roughly four months prior to this event. I knew Kate would be attending these meetings and didn’t want to make her or Alpha Jackson uncomfortable with his presence.

Kate POV As I walked toward our large conference meeting room, I could hear some of the Alphas had already arrived. Walking into the room, I looked around taking in who was in attendance so far and nodding as I made my way into the room. I stopped to speak with a couple Alphas making small talk. We had two Alphas who were a little more old school than the other four who were more progressive. The old school Alphas had an opinion that a female should not become the Alpha to a Pack. Kate POV Everyone started talking at once tossing out questions. Why me? What did they want with me? Did Blue Moon have any more information to share? They were coming at me so quickly I couldn’t keep up. Raising his hand, Alpha Jackson said, “You know what we know gentlemen. This is what we have brought you here for you. Your expertise, your counsel and most importantly your opinion on an alliance with Blue Moon Pack and their allies.”. Rafe POV I had managed to get out from under my uncle’s thumb for a few minutes as a call came in which he had to take. I hurried back down the stairs hoping to catch Kate and her friend. I know I had screwed up, but I was used to getting second chances. I was not going to accept no – not until she had gotten to know me a bit better. And then I was confident she would be mine. Looking at her, being around her, and hearing her speak today has just reinforced with me the mistake I made that night. I will not make that mistake again. Kate POVThe meetings passed by quickly in the morning. Much had been decided or discussed over drinks the night before. It was agreed to move forward on a trial basis for the alliance with Blue Moon Pack. They will be offered a one-year agreement, providing nothing happens that warrants removal from the alliance during that first year. This clause applies to all within the alliance and is not uncommon to have this stipulation. When he had arrived, we had not anticipated any further discussion, but he wanted to negotiate terms and access to the alliance.
