I freeze on that spot and gape at them, turning behind.

"Yeah. It's her birthday", Ivanna says with a big smile. "How did you get to know? Oh, I see— no, that's fine. We didn't organise a party so— yeah. You can send her a gift anytime"

My throat dries up and I twist the knob harder.

"Yeah. She's awake. You can talk to her", Ivanna gives the phone to Chrissie.

Thea is ignoring my calls and messages just to frustrate me. Nothing else. But I badly need to talk to her. But how? I can't tell Ivanna to pass the call. It'll look weird.
