Chapter 54

Snow

Cody walks back in, two hours later after he left, with Biscuit in his hands. I thought he said he was going to take care of something at work. I move forward and gently take Biscuit from him. She licks my face and rests her head on my shoulder while I pat her back and pet her. This raised a lot of questions that needed answers. I give him a look.

"I thought you said there was something at work that you were going to take care of."

He looks away, not meeting my eyes and sighs. "I lied."

"Hm." I hummed. "And Biscuit?"

"Kesha was here yesterday while we were getting drunk." I raise my brows but maintain my frown. "She took Biscuit with her to her apartment. The text message I received this morning before I left…was from her. So I went to get Biscuit."

"Her reason was?" I question him.

"You know how crazy she is, Snow. I don't know why she took Biscuit but I guess it was to piss you off." He explains to me.

"There's more to it, Cody. You're not telling me something." I point
