Chapter 5 Boyfriend Express

I grabbed my things from my locker and slammed it shut in my frustration. The second letter that I have from him is now crumpled in my fist. Does he think this is some romance crap where he would write me a love letter like some regular schoolboy confessing to a girl?

Ha! If that's what he wants, I would gladly turn him down like a regular school girl.

 I will dump him hard!

He better get ready and stays the heck away from me and my life so I can finally pee!

I marched out into the football field. It was deserted and empty. Usually, it was full of jocks playing or hanging around. Today, it seemed like they just vanished.

I walked and stood by the bleachers as I scanned the area and looked for any signs of life when I heard a twig breaking behind me. I turned around, expecting to see a dark-haired, blue-eyed guy, but I met a blonde-haired, green-eyed jock from our school. It was Justin. One of the football players of the school. He’s dressed in a dark gray polo shirt and black pants. His hair was waxed and styled upward. The look completely contradicts his usual outfits that only consist of T-shirts and gym clothes. Aside from that, he seemed nervous.

"Gabriella." He said.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. He can't be here! I'm about to dump the stalker hybrid who’s following me all day! I wanted to shoo him away, but I didn’t have an alibi to say to him that would make him flee.

To make things worse, he started to head my way. His eyes never leaving my face. Good, then maybe he can read the message on my face saying, 'get the heck out of here!'. He stopped and stood in front of me.

This can't be good.

"Um....it's nice to see you, Justin, but I don't think that you should be here," I said.

For some reason, Justin seemed hurt about it. "Are you....expecting someone else?"

"No," I said quickly, which made me a little more suspicious.

"Good." He said and looked down at the now crumpled letter in my hand. I moved it away quickly from his line of sight. "I see you've got my letter."

"Seriously, you need to – wait, what?" I looked at him. Dumbfounded. "What did you say?"

"My letter."

"Your letter? It can't be. It's-" I suddenly paused and looked at the letter once again. Then I brought out the note I got this morning, placed it on the second letter, and compared them.

Great.

How could I have missed this before!? How could I have not noticed!? The handwriting was different! Justin’s writing was way better than that creepy stalker. Did he take calligraphy classes?

"It's...your letter?" I squeaked and looked at him.

He nodded. "Yes. And if you've read it, then you know why I'm here, right?"

Know why he's here? Ha! Don't make me laugh. I am no fortune teller! "I don't owe you any money, and I will not do your homework," I said and crossed my arms over my chest.

Justin chuckled. "No. You don't owe me any money. I am here to ask you of something else." He said.

"What is it?"

"Would you like to go -"

"NO, SHE WON'T!!" Before Justin could finish what he was about to say, he was suddenly cut off by a feral growl behind him. The giant stalker hybrid was now standing behind Justin with a look that could kill. Justin turned around and faced him with a look that was not so pleased with being interrupted. "She will not go out on a date with you."

"And who are you?" He asked and looked at Prick in the eyes.

At that question, Prick smirked arrogantly at Justine. "I'm her boyfriend."

"Stalker." I corrected.

Justin looked at me before looking back at Prick with a furious look."You're her stalker, and yet you claim to be her boyfriend? Dude, you are sick." Said Justin and stepped in front of me as if he was going to protect me from Prick. As if he could do any damage to a hybrid like Prick. For all I know, Prick is going to skin him alive and use it as a towel.

Excuse me for the gruesome thoughts.

Prick rolled his eyes at Justin. "I'm following a step, Dude. Stalker, friend, boyfriend, husband. Haven't you heard of that before?"

"If you're gonna be my husband, then I want to be a nun," I said. "You're a serious creep."

"Our babies will be named Gabfric if it's a girl. Aelrille, if it's a boy."

"Don't name her babies-" Justin tried to interrupt.

"My babies will be named after Ninja Turtles." I inserted.

"-as if you know that she would choose you-" Justin continued.

"Oh, she would choose me." Prick says, sounding confident.

"-over me. You're a stalker." Justin finally finished. Good for him.

"Amen to that." I agreed.

Prick stared at Justin for a moment. "And you think you are good for her? She said she wants her babies to be named after Ninja Turtles. That means she wants four kids. I can give her that." Justin's face suddenly burned red with anger.

"I can give her more than four kids!" He bellowed.

"I can give her six!"

"Seven!"

"Eight!"

"Nine!"

"Nineteen!!"

"NO ONE IS GOING TO GIVE ME ANY KIDS!!" I yelled as soon as the number of kids they expected me to have seemed to grow higher by the minute. "If you guys want kids so bad, then give birth to them on your butts!! You guys are sick and disgusting. And I am not even dating any of you!" I scrunched up my face as I looked at the two of them and shook my head.

Men. Whether they’re a hybrid or not, they are animals.

"Baby, we can adopt them anytime. But for now," It happened so fast that I wasn't even sure what happened. One minute Justin was in front of the, and the next; he was sprawled on the ground. "As much as I admire your courage for standing up for her, I'm afraid that you need to leave. See this girl," He pointed the finger at me. I moved to the side to avoided getting pointed at. "is mine and if I ever see you getting close to her again, expect your body laying scattered on the ground with your face barely recognizable for the burial." He hissed.

I thought for sure that Justin would stay and fight, but he didn't. He slowly got up on his feet, gave him a last pissed-off look before walking away.

Once Justin was gone, Prick turned to me with a very bright smile on his face. "Well, now that that pest is gone, what do you say I take you home?" He asked and offered me his hand for me to take. I stared at him before starring back at his face.

What was it that you were supposed to do when a vampire-werewolf hybrid stalker ask to walk you home?

Oh yeah. Now I remember.

I pulled my knee up and hit him in the groin before running and screaming my head off. I dared to look back and saw Mr. Prick clutching his male petunia with a look of agony. I took that opportunity as I started to make my escape. I didn't bother to wait for the bus since that would require me to pause, and stopping would mean him catching up to me.

Well, not like I could outrun a vampire/werewolf anyway. But still, I would rather flee than stop. I may not be a fighter, but I sure am a runner.

I started to run and charged the open air like a football player running at full speed to my goal. Home.

I got off of the school's street and ignored the weird stares from my schoolmates.

I was halfway through and used the shortcut that I took yesterday to get home quicker. I ducked by the fence as I pulled my body to the other side. My bag got stuck again, and I had to pull on it violently before I could finally get it free. Once I did, I jerked back and would have fallen on my butt if it wasn't for the wall behind me.

Wait. Wall?

My hands then flew back and touched the supposed wall behind me. It was hard yet soft at the same time, but more on the hard part. I started poking it out of curiosity as I tried to figure out what it was. I vastly remember that there was no wall here before.

"That's my abs. And I wouldn't go lower if I were you."

I jumped in fright and felt like my soul, and my heart were at the tip of my tongue. On instinct, I turned 180 degrees and threw my fist up. As I did, I noticed Prick taking a few steps back and stood sideward as if he was afraid that I might kick his male petunia again. It's kind of amusing seeing a hybrid scared of a regular human girl like me – well, ordinary killer smile girl at least.

I raised an eyebrow at his sudden retreat, and he immediately straightened up and cleared his throat. "Thought you were going to kick me again." He muttered before looking at me again. "Geez, if you are in such a hurry to go home, then you could have at least said so."

"Stop following me!!" I growled and went around to pass him, but he grabbed my arm and stopped my further advances.

He tsked and shook his head like I was a disappointment. "You don't have to be shy, love. And you don't have to walk anymore because I will carry you." With that, I pulled me towards him and swooped me off of my feet – literally – and carried me bridal style.

"Here comes the bride!" He sang.

"Let me go!!" I squirmed from his grip and slapped my bag on his face.

"Ow." He said without any emotion at all. He set me down again, grabbed my bag, and strapped it over his shoulder before carrying me again. "There." He said and grinned in satisfaction. I was just about to claw him, but he attempted to snap his teeth at my fingers. I drew them back and stared at him fearfully. He let out a satisfied grin when I did not try attacking him again.

"Much better." He said while looking at me with satisfaction. All I could do at that point was to stay frozen in place and make myself small. “Try not to open your mouth, okay, baby doll?”

“What?” All of a sudden, a blast of wind hit my face that sent my ponytail flying in every direction around my head. It felt like I was riding a roller coaster but with a safer and uncomfortable seatbelt.

"We're here!" He announced cheerfully as soon as the harsh wind slaps halted. I used my hands and brushed out the tangled web of hair from my face to see where he had taken me. Imagine my surprise when we were standing at the doorstep of my house. "Boyfriend express. That'll cost you a date with me."

"Never!!" I said and shook out the dizzy spell from the super speed experience that he forced me to. Then I raised two of my fingers and poked him in the eyes. Prick screamed and dropped me to the ground as he bellowed in agony and covered his eyes.

He dropped my bag in the process, and I bent down to pick it up, got my house keys, and got in. As I did, I saw him reaching out for me but then stopped as if some invisible force stopped him.

I got confused and looked at him as he stared at the doorway with an angered look. He hissed and threw a punch and hit something solid at the entrance of our house. I have watched enough vampire shows to figure out what had just happened there. "You can't get in, can you?"

It would seem that I have hit the mark because Prick's frown deepened, and he started to cuss. If I only remember how to smile, I would. But as of the moment, I settled on for a mocking look at him. He did not appreciate the gesture as he hissed angrily at me, showing off his sharp fangs. He dashed towards me, but was once again blocked by an invisible force.

Still, it made me jump.

"No worries." He said, and suddenly came an evil grin on his face. "I may not be able to enter, but as soon as you step out of that door, I'll be here." He said before a gush of wind came. I closed my eyes and shielded myself from the accursed wind, and when I opened them back, he was gone.

For some reason – even though I know that he was gone – I have a sickening feeling that he was watching me from afar.

There was a faint rustle on my right, and I turned to see that Prick was peeking behind it and looking at me secretively. When he saw me looking, he slowly retreated behind the tree to hide his presence.

Nope. He wasn't far off at all. He was just in my backyard and continued being a stalker that he is.

The Gridon Pack's Alpha sat in his office, staring down at images of potential mates for his son, Tyrelle, somewhere within the corridors of his house.

He was already coming of age, and with the threatening war about to break out from another wolf pack, he badly needed to find a suitable partner at his side. Preferably someone strong and fearsome. Someone who can shut an enemy up with one look of her eyes.

The Alpha sighed in frustration when the pictures of the girls on his table are more likely to get pregnant with the enemy than fighting them. "Worthless!!" The Alpha growled and threw the photos to the floor in frustration.

Just then, there was a knock on his door, and the Beta of the pack entered. "Alpha, we have news of the hybrid."

"Get in." Said the Alpha and straightened up in his seat. His features changed. When in the presence of his subordinates, his posture becomes regal, his eyes becoming alert, his lips in a thin line, and his aura emanating with a golden hue. His chocolate brown hair streaked with white from age seemed to diminish, and he looked younger and more robust.

The Beta nodded at his Alpha and gestured for someone at the door to enter. Four men came in from the double doors with their eyes cast downward. Just by looking at the pitiful and shaken looks of his pack member, the Alpha suddenly knew that they weren't here to bring good news. And it did not help with his current mood.

"Alpha, these men have met the hybrid last night." Said the Beta.

The Alpha folded his hands in front of his and leaned on it, seeming interested. "So I've heard. What happened?"

"We had him, Alpha!" One of the men said from the group. "We had him cornered and ready to dice him up and bring him as a present for you."

"Oh? So why hadn't you?"

"There was someone else in the scene." Said another. "It doesn't seem like they are acquainted, but if she hadn't shown up, then we would have gotten him."

"She?" Asked the Alpha as he leaned forward with interest in his eyes.

"There was a girl." Explained another. "I would say about 17 or 18. Long brown hair with a little bit of highlight."

A girl about 17 or 18 years of age.

Now the Alpha was interested than ever. "What about this girl? What did she do? She beat you up?"

"Worse. She flashed us." There was a pause as everyone seemed to stare at the man who said it. Realizing his mistake, he immediately corrected himself. "No – I mean – flashed us with her smile."

"A smile?" Now he seems convinced that these guys were mocking him with their story.

"No, no! It was no ordinary smile, Alpha. It was....dark and brooding. It was something I have never seen before."

"It was horrifying!!"

"The look alone makes me have visions of being murdered in 70 different ways!"

"It was a Killer's Smile, Alpha. Something that you don't want to see. We had no choice but to flee."

The kind processed and made sense of their words. If what they said was true, then this girl alone made four strong members of his pack flee with their tails between their legs with a single smile. "Is she a supernatural being like us?"

"I don't think so, Alpha."

Hearing that, the Alpha seemed to become more and more impressed with the girl. She's just a mere human who chased off full-grown wolves with her smile.

She's perfect! She may not be a werewolf, but she is the best mate out there for his son. And they are of the same age!

"What other things do you know of this girl?"

The men turned to each other and exchanged glances. Finally, one of them spoke. "I think she's a student here in Oldridge."

"Anything else?"

Silence.

"Alright." Said the Alpha and then turned to his Beta. "Any news from Tyrelle?"

"Still studying in New York and still the Captain of the football club." Replied the Beta.

"Call him over and tell him to transfer school here."

"But, Alpha, I don't think he'll like that."

"Just do as I say and tell him the Alpha has made it is an order, and he can't refuse. I have found his mate and he is going to pursue her." At the Alpha's command, the Beta nodded and headed out of the door along with the others that came in with him. Once the door had shut, the Alpha laughed.

This is great! This is so great. He has found the perfect mate for his son, and if that girl's smile is that threatening, imagine their advantage when they get a hold of her. No enemy is going to dare attack them now.
