~Laurel~

During my shoot in Paris, all I could think about was Kurt humiliating me in front of those people. Didn't he know that I could drag him to court for such a thing?

Probably no.

And I would show him how much power I had on my own without anyone's support.

After modeling for Louis Vuitton and posing for Vogue's cover, I came back home for a break. After some few days, I would go back to Paris to continue my shooting and probably not return till weeks later when we might have finished with the shooting.

I was having a dinner date with my boyfriend, temporary boyfriend, Jason Reece today at Ritz Carlton's hotel and suites. I had taken my time to set my look and look more like the most beautiful woman I was. Even in a red loosed gown that didn't give all my curves' secret away, I still looked like I would make a man drool all night.

The moment I got out, people crowded me like flies and I was finding it difficult to push my way in and like always, Leon had to make the way. I fired my bodyguards because I thought I wouldn't see the need for one but now I learnt how necessary it was to go out with a bodyguard and if possible, bodyguards.

"I'm sorry I'm late." I said the moment I walked up to Jason and took my seat opposite him in the dining.

"It's okay." He said, moving round to kiss my lips. "You look beautiful and stunning like always."

"Thank you, Jason."

Jason Reece, top in the industry, one of the richest actors in the world and famous for his leading roles in movies.

We met three week ago and although, things escalated too fast between us, he still loved me like crazy. But the question was, did I even like him? Like, maybe. But love?

We ordered and were already eating when my eyes caught a pair of deep ocean blue eyes watching me. I nearly spilled my drink when I saw Kurt Kenton watching me, three tables away and you know the most amusing thing? He was talking to a woman who looked like she was forced to keep her hands to herself. Obviously, with the way he was talking to her, it seemed as if they were close. Although he wasn't smiling, his mood was bright and the woman wouldn't stop making a fool of herself by smiling at every small thing he would say.

"Are you alright?" Jason asked him, turning around to see what I was watching intensively.

"No it's fine." I said, returning my gaze back to Jason's.

"Kurt Kenton?"

"You know him?"

"Who doesn't? Everyone knows he's one of the richest men in the planet. He made history when he built a tech company on his own and made his first launch."

"I thought those were top secrets?"

"Well, men like him are hardly kept off the public. Although, he still manages to keep everything about him mysterious. Nobody even knows if he's gay or if he's married or who he's even dating. Nobody knows if he's actually a British or if he's an American. Everything about his family are secrets."

"Hm." I turned to Kurt and our eyes met, again.

~

It was half past nine when we decided to round up our dinner.

"I'll drop you off." Jason said as he accompanied me out of the hotel. I could see the women that were checking him out. Couldn't blame them. He too was gorgeous and famous.

"I brought my car. I'd be fine."

I didn't expect him to pull me forward and ground his lips against mine. Infact it was totally uncalled for. I wanted to push him and say that things were going too fast but then I didn't want to embarrass him.

"See you tomorrow, Laurel."

I nodded and strode off to where I parked my car. Squatting down a little in front of a side mirror, I took out my handkerchief and started wiping Jason's taste off my lips.

"Thought you enjoyed it." A hoarse, deep male voice boomed behind me. The handkerchief in my hand fell off the moment I saw Kurt standing there, resting his body on the bodice of a sleek black Bugatti.

"And how does that concern you?" I quipped, squeezing my face into a frown.

"The fact that you're cleaning his taste and he's standing right in there." He shrugged. "I could go right in and tell him that his beloved girlfriend doesn't feel the same way about him."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Try me." He moved from the spot and I was quick to stand in front of him.

"Kurt."

"It's Mr Kenton."

"Okay fine! Mr Kenton."

That same sinister smirk again. "Good."

I moved back to my side mirror and continued wiping my lips. "What are you even doing here? Thought you said you didn't do heart shattering and drinking?"

"I didn't drink and I certainly didn't do any heart shattering."

I turned to him again. "So your woman was invisible eh?"

"I don't have any woman." He said flatly.

I didn't know what was going on with me but something in me calmed down a bit. "T-then who's she?"

He held my gaze. "What's it to you, Laurel?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Nothing. Just curious."

"Right."

I sighed, placing my hands on my hips. "Is it a coincidence that you're always everywhere I'm at?"

"It's you who's making a bother out of it."

"Fine. Whatever." I said and walked back to my car, opened the door and got in beside Leon who was already on the driver's seat.

I got out of it again. " Who're you waiting for?"

"Tessa."

"So that's her name?"

"None of your business."

"Well it should be, considering the fact that you're always acting this way."

"Do you expect an apology Laurel?" He narrowed his eyes at me and quirked a brow.

"You humiliated me in front of those people so ye-yes."

"Hm, too bad I don't do apologies and the others. Told you before." He said and opened his car. He was about to get it but my words halted him.

"How about a coffee date? Tomorrow? The two of us?" When he narrowed his eyes at me again, I blinked. "I mean...not in that way, not the two of us but yeah the two of us. I would like to know you more, Mr Kenton. Perhaps a business discussion?"

"There's nothing to know more about me, Hyde."

"I said business discussion."

"You didn't tell me that you were planning on changing your career?"

I let out a small laugh. "Not that, silly."

When he made that usual face, I quickly apologized. "I didn't mean it that way, I'm sorry."

And for the first time in my life, for the first time in years, Kurt Kenton smiled.

God even the smile could put a smile on an angry person's face. His smile could make all the anger in a person vanish into thin air. He had a fine set of teeth and those dimples, God the dimples, so deep, so pure, so enthralling, so mythological...why does gorgeous men like him always come to life with dimples? His was just too...too dazzling and his smile was just too enticing. Like it was impossible for a man like him to have such a captivating smile.

"Quit the ogling." His words snapped me out and I hid my cheeks in embarrassment. "See you tomorrow, Laurel." He said and got into his car.

Wait he just said tomorow?

Tomorrow?!

He agreed?!

Before I could register his words and mouth out a thank you, the lady quickly entered the car and he zoomed off.

Way to go Laurel.

"That went well, didn't it?" I said to Leon beside me.

"Yes ma'am." He said in usual grumpy tone.

Ugh..

~

"Mia is the food ready?!" I shouted, climbing my way down from the stairs.

"Yes Laurel! I'm setting the table for two!"

Good.

Just as I was about to go upstairs and change from my pair of pyjamas and probably pull my hair from its bun, the door bell rang.

"Mia..the door." I whispered, and turned around, climbing up the stairs back to my room.

"Laurel."

Damnit Mia!

I stopped on my tracks and turned around slowly. Kurt was standing at the door, looking breathtaking gorgeous as usual. Even dressed casual in a pair of black distressed jeans and white shirt underneath the dark denim jacket, he still looked mesmerizing and so drop-dead mouthwatering.

"Hey."

"Okay I'm here. Let's talk business." He said inviting himself in.

I growled silently. I wasn't planning on talking about any business deal, I simply wanted to find out if Kurt was the same boy from ten years ago. I wanted to know how much he's changed. The bastard couldn't just humiliate me and get away with it.

I climbed down from the stairs and stood in front of him. "Welcome to my abode, Mr Kenton."

He rolled his eyes, dipping his hands in his pockets. "Today is not the first time I've been here."

I smiled. "Duh, I'm making it your first official visit."

"Aren't we talking anymore? If we're not talking then I think I should just turn around and go." He turned around but I held onto his arm immediately.

I withdrew my hand the moment his gaze roamed to my hand on his arm.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

He turned to me again and stomped his foot. "Alright, invite me in."

I leaped excitedly. "Come on, this way." I said leading him to the dinning room.

"What's this?" He asked, referring to the food on the table.

I ignored him and pulled out a chair, waiting for him to take a seat.

"I asked you and I'm asking you again, what the hell is this?"

"Relax, Mr Kenton. I didn't poison you. It's just Cobb salad, mashed potatoes and fried pickles." I said and inhaled, shaking my head in an approving manner.

"I'm not hungry."

"Kur--Mr Kenton please. Don't you think it's better if I welcome you with a meal first? Come on. I promise you I'm not doing anything. Alright," I moved around and took my seat. "I'll eat too if that pleases you." I didn't want him to know that I still remember that fried prickles were still one of his favorite.

"You said coffee."

"Okay I may have changed my mind at the very last minute. Coffee? In this weather?!" I threw my hands up in the air. "Come on, Kenton. I'm not poisoning you, I swear."

He stared at me for a few minutes before nodding and taking his seat opposite me.

"You see? Easy right?" I quipped as Mia slowly served the food. As soon as she was done serving, my gaze roamed to Kurt's who was watching me intensively, waiting for me to take the first move.

I scooped a great amount of  salad and shoved it in my mouth. I did it with the others and Kurt took hold of his spoon, imitating me in the same manner.

About two minutes later, Kurt dropped his utensils and faced me.

"What?" I mouthed with my mouth full.

"You said we were going to talk. Listen here, Hyde, I hate making myself comfortable in people's homes, so you better start talking or else I'm walking out of here."

"Relax, Kenton, relax." I said dropping my spoon on the table. "Why don't you like making yourself comfortable in people's homes?"

"I don't see a need to tell you that."

"Have anyone ever told you're boring and so full of yourself?"

He glared at me. Hard. A glare that was hard enough to push me off my limits.

"I'm leaving." He got up and pushed the dinning table aside, making some glasses on the table, shatter on the floor.

"You'd better think twice before such a mistake again." He said and walked out of my home, straight off without even glancing back.

Why didn't it work?

I trailed beside him and stood at the door watching him open his car door to get in.

Just when I wanted to go back inside and lock the door behind me, I heard him cough. I turned around immediately to stare at him. He got out of his car and started coughing profusely. I walked down to him and tried touching him but he jerked my hand away.

"Don't.... don't just don't..." He managed out, his eyes red and puffy.

"Kurt what's wrong?" I asked him, pretentiously.

He continued coughing and held onto his chest tightly, struggling to breathe.

No no no, I didn't mean for it to get this worse...

"Kurt? Kurt!" I screamed and ran inside to Mia.

"Mia do you know anything that can treat dust allergy?!" I asked Mia who panicked on seeing me.

"Our plan backfired?" She asked me, looking more worried than ever.

"Yes it's getting worse!"

"Alright, alright, I'll make him an apple cider vinegar, just try bringing him in."

I ran back out and saw Kurt still standing over his car coughing. The cough had gone even more worse.

"Come on." I got hold of his arm and tried securing it around my neck but he pushed me away.

"Kurt do you wanna die?!" I asked him, trying for a second time but he pushed me away again.

"Kurt please! Don't do this to yourself, just lemme help you. Mia's preparing something for your allergy just come on in, please."

He stared at me for a while before nodding and gesturing me to aid him.

Just as I was about to snake his arm around my neck, he collapsed on me, his entire weight, though wasn't on me but nearly crushing me as his eyes slowly closed.

What have I done?
