Chapter 5: My Favorite Wolf

(Luther)

“I WANT YOU heart, body, and soul, Alexandra.”

I swallowed hard when Alexandra suddenly wrapped her arms around my neck. She tiptoed and pressed her forehead against mine. Our lips were barely brushing against each other. She was one hell of a beauty and she knew it. She knew how to use her face and body as weapons. And it was working.

Alexandra had the ability to arouse people’s greed. The second I saw her walked down the aisle, I’d been resisting the urge to take her to the nearest room, pin her against the wall, and claim her. Every fiber of my body wanted her. And she was not helping me fight the temptation with her this close to me. She was just making me want to gobble her up right now.

“If you’re aiming for me, don’t you think you at least have to be worthy of me? I’m not just anybody.”

Of course, I knew that. She was not the only one who did a little digging about backgrounds here. I’m aware that my little wolf’s existence had made quite a history. Alexandra was the only wolf who was born on the night of the blood moon. Not to mention that she was the only one who had a crimson-red fur. She was the strongest and the fastest among the wolves that’s why this future Luna was admired by all packs all over the world. I know that not only the humans wanted to get their hands on her.

“I am Alexandra Kendricks. I can win this game with or without your help, Luther.”

Nobody had called me by my name with such rage before. I smiled and lifted her so this fiery soul wouldn’t have to look up and tiptoe anymore. I caught the fury in her eyes. She didn’t even try to hide it. And I don’t mind since she looked lovely all the time especially whenever her pretty little mouth would move as she talk. It was as if those lips were begging to be kissed although her eyes looked like she was struggling not to twist my neck.

The more she looks at me like that, the more she evokes my sense of desire to win. She looks at me as if she had no room for me in her mind, in her heart, in her life. And it’s all right because I will make a room myself. I will make it big enough to accommodate all of me.

“You are wrong, darling. You are now Alexandra Sinclair. That makes the two of us partners now. And whether you like it or not, you will need me to win.” She didn’t say anything, she just looked at me as if she was trying to appraise my value. “Do you see the blonde guy on your left? The one wearing a maroon tie? His name is Jackson and he is Uncle Mason’s spy. On your right, there’s a guy with the red and black tattoo on his neck and was wearing Barong Tagalog. He’s the only one with a tattoo so it’ll be easy to spot him. He’s one of my father’s best guys out there. And yes, he is a spy, too.”

I put Alexandra down and held her chin to draw back her gaze to me. “Don’t stare at other men for too long. I don’t like it.”

“Why are you telling me about them?” she asked instead. “Aren’t you a spy yourself? But based on the trick you just pulled off; I think it’s safe to assume that your father isn’t your real master. So, it’s the Vice President then.”

I laughed and softly blew on her ear. And since her body was still pressed against mine, I felt the tips of her breasts hardened. But this woman was no pushover. The attraction between us was palpable and she knew that. She just wasn’t the type to simply let that attraction win. She was fighting it. I can see it in her eyes.

“I don’t think you realized it yet, but darling, I am my own master. And I am the one who makes the rules here. I can help you pluck out the weeds you want to pluck. I can tell you everything you need to know. For instance, Pa and Uncle may appear like they are working with each other, but they weren’t. Their true aim is to take down each other. There are many guests here who classify people into two: treasures and garbage. It doesn’t matter if you’re an angel, a beast, or a devil. They will still treasure you as long as you have the money. I know exactly who those people are. They are vital players in this game, too. The battle here is not only between the wolves and the humans. It’s deeper than that. I could tell you more but there has to be a price. And I believe you know what I meant.”

Alexandra was about to respond when Isaac, one of my trusted bodyguards, approached us and whispered in my ear.

“Code A, Sir.”

My expression hardened. “All right. I’ll be at the gate soon. Tell the rest to meet me there.”

When Isaac left, I stroke Alexandra’s cheeks and grinned. Her eyes were filled with questions she didn’t need to voice out. I know that aside from the possible invasion in the headquarters, she had also began making her move although at the moment, there was no way for me to know what that was. That move could either be big or small, but I know for sure that it’ll make an impact. That’s who she was.

Alexandra was a major contributor to every step her pack takes. And they don’t stop with just one plan. They had a bunch of them.

Unlike the humans, Alexandra and her pack may be quiet but they were certainly doing something. Fortunately, this was not a race. Or else, I wouldn’t win.

“Tell your pack not to waste their time in following me outside. They wouldn’t hear a single word even if they wanted to unless I allow them to join the conversation. Tell them to just enjoy the night, drink some wine, and eat a lot of good food. After all, for us humans, gatherings are twenty percent about food and drinks.”

Her brows furrowed. “What about the remaining eighty percent?”

“I’m glad we are finally having a normal conversation. Fifty percent is about hooking up, ten percent is about planning who and how to kill someone, and the remaining twenty percent is actually killing that unlucky person. That’s why an alliance is important. You need to have someone to watch your back while you’re busy having fun. Welcome to the human society, darling.”

She opened her mouth, but when she didn’t let out another word, I winked at her. “Don’t worry, since you are my favorite wolf, I have your back, darling. Now excuse me, but I’d have to let you go for the time being,” I said before walking away from her. But then I heard her call my name.

“You forgot something,” she said.

“What?”

“This,” she replied before grabbing me by the nape. Before I knew it, she was already kissing me on the lips. I smirked before kissing her back. I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss through pushing my tongue inside her mouth. I tasted the roof of her mouth and entwined my tongue with hers. This time, she responded to my kisses as our tongues mated.

Damn. Alexandra was one hell of a good kisser. Who taught her how to kiss like this? I appreciate it, but the thought of another man who had a taste of her lips before me makes me want to murder him. Whoever that person is, he better not show up in front of me because if he did, that will be the biggest mistake he’ll commit in his entire life.

When the kiss ended, Alexandra wiped the lipstick smudge off my lips. “What was the kiss for?”

“Consider that a payment for the tip and for confirming a few things for me. Tell me more and I might do… more tonight and in the following days to come.”

I chuckled.

But when I turned away, my smile vanished in an instant.
