(Luther)
“I WANT YOU heart, body, and soul, Alexandra.”
I swallowed hard when Alexandra suddenly wrapped her arms around my neck. She tiptoed and pressed her forehead against mine. Our lips were barely brushing against each other. She was one hell of a beauty and she knew it. She knew how to use her face and body as weapons. And it was working.
Alexandra had the ability to arouse people’s greed. The second I saw her walked down the aisle, I’d been resisting the urge to take her to the nearest room, pin her against the wall, and claim her. Every fiber of my body wanted her. And she was not helping me fight the temptation with her this close to me. She was just making me want to gobble her up right now.
“If you’re aiming for me, don’t you think you at least have to be worthy of me? I’m not just anybody.”
Of course, I knew that. She was not the only one who did a little digging about backgrounds here. I’m aware that my little wolf’s existence had made quite a history. Alexandra was the only wolf who was born on the night of the blood moon. Not to mention that she was the only one who had a crimson-red fur. She was the strongest and the fastest among the wolves that’s why this future Luna was admired by all packs all over the world. I know that not only the humans wanted to get their hands on her.
“I am Alexandra Kendricks. I can win this game with or without your help, Luther.”
Nobody had called me by my name with such rage before. I smiled and lifted her so this fiery soul wouldn’t have to look up and tiptoe anymore. I caught the fury in her eyes. She didn’t even try to hide it. And I don’t mind since she looked lovely all the time especially whenever her pretty little mouth would move as she talk. It was as if those lips were begging to be kissed although her eyes looked like she was struggling not to twist my neck.
The more she looks at me like that, the more she evokes my sense of desire to win. She looks at me as if she had no room for me in her mind, in her heart, in her life. And it’s all right because I will make a room myself. I will make it big enough to accommodate all of me.
“You are wrong, darling. You are now Alexandra Sinclair. That makes the two of us partners now. And whether you like it or not, you will need me to win.” She didn’t say anything, she just looked at me as if she was trying to appraise my value. “Do you see the blonde guy on your left? The one wearing a maroon tie? His name is Jackson and he is Uncle Mason’s spy. On your right, there’s a guy with the red and black tattoo on his neck and was wearing Barong Tagalog. He’s the only one with a tattoo so it’ll be easy to spot him. He’s one of my father’s best guys out there. And yes, he is a spy, too.”
I put Alexandra down and held her chin to draw back her gaze to me. “Don’t stare at other men for too long. I don’t like it.”
“Why are you telling me about them?” she asked instead. “Aren’t you a spy yourself? But based on the trick you just pulled off; I think it’s safe to assume that your father isn’t your real master. So, it’s the Vice President then.”
I laughed and softly blew on her ear. And since her body was still pressed against mine, I felt the tips of her breasts hardened. But this woman was no pushover. The attraction between us was palpable and she knew that. She just wasn’t the type to simply let that attraction win. She was fighting it. I can see it in her eyes.
“I don’t think you realized it yet, but darling, I am my own master. And I am the one who makes the rules here. I can help you pluck out the weeds you want to pluck. I can tell you everything you need to know. For instance, Pa and Uncle may appear like they are working with each other, but they weren’t. Their true aim is to take down each other. There are many guests here who classify people into two: treasures and garbage. It doesn’t matter if you’re an angel, a beast, or a devil. They will still treasure you as long as you have the money. I know exactly who those people are. They are vital players in this game, too. The battle here is not only between the wolves and the humans. It’s deeper than that. I could tell you more but there has to be a price. And I believe you know what I meant.”
Alexandra was about to respond when Isaac, one of my trusted bodyguards, approached us and whispered in my ear.
“Code A, Sir.”
My expression hardened. “All right. I’ll be at the gate soon. Tell the rest to meet me there.”
When Isaac left, I stroke Alexandra’s cheeks and grinned. Her eyes were filled with questions she didn’t need to voice out. I know that aside from the possible invasion in the headquarters, she had also began making her move although at the moment, there was no way for me to know what that was. That move could either be big or small, but I know for sure that it’ll make an impact. That’s who she was.
Alexandra was a major contributor to every step her pack takes. And they don’t stop with just one plan. They had a bunch of them.
Unlike the humans, Alexandra and her pack may be quiet but they were certainly doing something. Fortunately, this was not a race. Or else, I wouldn’t win.
“Tell your pack not to waste their time in following me outside. They wouldn’t hear a single word even if they wanted to unless I allow them to join the conversation. Tell them to just enjoy the night, drink some wine, and eat a lot of good food. After all, for us humans, gatherings are twenty percent about food and drinks.”
Her brows furrowed. “What about the remaining eighty percent?”
“I’m glad we are finally having a normal conversation. Fifty percent is about hooking up, ten percent is about planning who and how to kill someone, and the remaining twenty percent is actually killing that unlucky person. That’s why an alliance is important. You need to have someone to watch your back while you’re busy having fun. Welcome to the human society, darling.”
She opened her mouth, but when she didn’t let out another word, I winked at her. “Don’t worry, since you are my favorite wolf, I have your back, darling. Now excuse me, but I’d have to let you go for the time being,” I said before walking away from her. But then I heard her call my name.
“You forgot something,” she said.
“What?”
“This,” she replied before grabbing me by the nape. Before I knew it, she was already kissing me on the lips. I smirked before kissing her back. I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss through pushing my tongue inside her mouth. I tasted the roof of her mouth and entwined my tongue with hers. This time, she responded to my kisses as our tongues mated.
Damn. Alexandra was one hell of a good kisser. Who taught her how to kiss like this? I appreciate it, but the thought of another man who had a taste of her lips before me makes me want to murder him. Whoever that person is, he better not show up in front of me because if he did, that will be the biggest mistake he’ll commit in his entire life.
When the kiss ended, Alexandra wiped the lipstick smudge off my lips. “What was the kiss for?”
“Consider that a payment for the tip and for confirming a few things for me. Tell me more and I might do… more tonight and in the following days to come.”
I chuckled.
But when I turned away, my smile vanished in an instant.
Hi, guys! I hope you're enjoying the story. Please don't forget to add this to your library and to vote. Comments would be very much appreciated, too. Thank you so much!
“YOU SHOULD have just sent us a gift. I heard you came straight from the airport. I’m sure you’re tired. You didn’t have to bother coming all the way here since the gift would have been more welcomed and more appreciated than your presence,” I told Giovanni, the Vice President’s son as soon as I saw him at the gate. Giovanni’s fully-armored guards stood behind him. There were seven of them, mine were five. And they all seemed ready to kill including my cousin who rushed forward and grabbed me by the collar. “Why did you do this? You knew my feelings for Alexandra! I was only gone for a while!” he yelled. “I was supposed to be her groom! You were aware of my plans and yet, you betrayed me, you bastard!” “I may have known your plans, but I didn’t say I would simply go along with them and do nothing. This is why you lost your chance. You let your guard down,” I replied in a neutral voice as I brushed off his hands and straightened my suit which had only intensified Giovanni’s anger. “T
(Alexandra) “I SEE an incredibly gorgeous man and you see an enemy. We are seeing things differently, dear.” I frowned as I glanced at Beatrix, my cousin, my best friend, and my assistant all rolled into one. She was on the left side of the hall, a few tables away from me. She raised her wineglass when our eyes met. Beatrix showed up as Kenji’s partner for tonight and no one doubted her because she was a famous model in the country. She also had an established background and was also known for supporting charities. There was only three people Luther had kept close all these years. Tristan, Isaac, and Kenji. And since the twin brothers were constantly in San Antonio, Beatrix targeted Kenji who worked in Manila, and seduced him so she would have a reason to return here one day since San Antonio was also Kenji’s hometown. Now, Beatrix got the playboy billionaire wrapped around her fingers. I snorted. “Have you forgotten what the humans did to us, to our family? It’s impossible for me
I BIT my lower lip so I wouldn’t burst out laughing after getting in the bridal car since the men who escorted me out of the hall after I pretended to faint were just nearby. I haven’t had this much fun in years.Luther couldn’t join me in the car since Mrs. Molly begged him to stay with her. She was afraid to be alone in the police car after her husband walked away on her. As for the aconite issue, the verdict will be out tomorrow afternoon once the Governor and the Alpha had sort things out in the morning. For now, Mrs. Molly will not get to have her beauty rest in the hotel or in her mansion. She would be spending the night in the cold prison cell since both Luther and his father cannot contact the Alpha. Before that, I know that Trix had already informed my father not to accept any of their calls at the moment. It was the Beta who told the Sinclairs that the Alpha and the Luna were away and would be back to meet them tomorrow.Mrs. Molly cannot avoid imprisonment after I exposed w
WHEN Luther’s hands spread my legs, I immediately opened my eyes. I sat straight and was about to slap him when he caught my hand. He chuckled as if he was already expecting my reaction. Was he just teasing me? I’m stronger than him. I could easily take my hand back and slap him with my other hand or even punched him in the gut. But I stopped the second I saw just how mesmerizing he looked as he laughed that I had to turn away. My chest felt like it was going to explode but not out of anger this time. What was this strange feeling hanging within me? “What are you doing here? What about Mrs. Molly?” I asked when I returned to my senses. I coughed. “I think with a little rest, I will start to feel better. Tell her that what she did broke my heart, but I’ve forgiven her that’s why I hope that she learns to forgive herself, too. This is my second chance at life and right now, I’m just grateful that I’ve recovered from the poison.” Luther looked at me with a knowing smile on his face. “
“WHERE are we heading? This is not the direction towards Luther’s mansion,” I told Mark after he passed by the route which would have lead us to the mansion which the Governor had given to me and his son as a wedding gift. Before the wedding, the Governor toured me and the Alpha to the ‘love nest’ he bragged about that’s why I knew the way. I only had to see things once to remember them. And we are now so far away towards that extravagant nest which he filled with his people disguised as servants. “The Boss instructed me to send you to his real house, ma’am, and not to the mansion which the Governor had bought for the two of you,” Mark explained politely. “We will be there in about twenty minutes. For the meantime, please feel free to take a nap if you want to. I will wake you once we have reached the house.” “No, thanks.” Not long after, my phone vibrated. The voice message came from Luther. Like me, he probably got my contact number through his assistant. “You are not lost, darl
(Luther)“I’VE HEARD about your wedding. Congratulations, Mr. Sinclair. You got yourself a very gorgeous wife. Alexandra, wasn’t it? Without her werewolf gene, she would have been perfect. It’s such a shame.”I glanced at the police chief whose words had stopped me from getting inside the police station. He was among my father’s puppets. But tonight, it doesn’t really matter.I only went out for a while to talk to my assistant when I saw this guy at the entrance. He was smirking as he leaned against the table with a cigarette in his mouth. I know him. He was famous for being an asshole. I even heard that he made quite a ruckus when he learned that he was not invited to my wedding.Talking to my parents had already sucked the energy out of me. And now I have to deal with this scumbag, too? I almost feel tempted to believe that I was being punished.“This is why people like you suck, you know. You don’t realize that my wife is perfect just the way she is. Her being a wolf is actually on
“WELCOME back, son.”I swallowed after hearing Suzanna’s affectionate greeting. No matter how many times I tell her to not wait for me each time I’d drop by, she never listens. It was past eleven in the midnight. The parade had caused a stir. I had to attend the organization’s emergency meeting before I got to drive home.“I’m glad you will finally get to live here. I know it had been a tough day, but knowing you, I’m sure you did well. Congratulations on your wedding, Luther,” she said with a smile.I’ve heard the same thing over and over again today. But Suzanna was the only one sincere about it.If she was my real parent, maybe I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I wouldn’t have to spend my whole life treating my parents’ house like a warzone. I can’t complain, though. Being a Sinclair had its benefits, too. This marriage, for example. When the cold wind blew, I fixed Suzanna’s shawl. “Thanks for waiting for me. It’s cold. Get inside.”“I heard the news from Mark. I know you’ve been
IT WAS still dark when I came out of the house and ran. The sun was now up when I calmed down after running for hours. I just had to leave. Otherwise, I was afraid that I might mess up the plan by suddenly killing Luther and everyone else in this house. It had been a long time since I stopped having that nightmare about Serena. Being surrounded by the humans must have brought it back. Knowing that Anthony Gutierrez was back in the country could be among the factors, too. Anthony had spent the past three years traveling to different parts of the world. By this time, he must have spent all the money he got from selling my sister to the auction house. It was not easy finding out his identity because Serena only wrote his nickname in her diary. There were no photos of them either that would help the pack trace him sooner. We had only succeeded in getting an information about him a year ago when the wolves had gained enough power and connection. The Senator who was the secret owner of th
