CHAPTER 48: He's my elder brother

ADELE'S POV

"C'mmon come off it already." Lu Cheng said after I'd explained what happened with Carlo today.

As expected, Cheng was already at my company when Arsenio dropped me off. She was waiting at my office lobby. Mira was kind enough to serve her tea while she waited for me. Now we were in my office.

"If he ignored you that's his business. We actually wanted him out since. Wasn't that the plan? Or, don't tell me you fell for him again." She said seriously and I hurriedly disagreed.

"No. Not at all. I was just surprised he ignored me that easily. You know..." I shrugged and took a sip of my tea.

"Well, just forget about him. Personally, I'm glad he didn't bother you again after that time. I wouldn't need to confront him again, as I'd thought of doing earlier." She said.

"You were going to do that? No need for that Cheng. I think he'll stay away." I said and she nodded.

"I heard there's a gala coming up soon in NYC. Are you attending?" Lu Cheng asked curiously
