A Deadly Mistake

I crept my way through, both hands and knees on the floor. I crawled until I was directly underneath the window and I could hear voices from inside - the elders in the werewolf council.

Standing on my tiptoe, I peered into the large meeting hall. There was a long rectangular table in the middle of the room and Damon was seated at one end of it, my dad at the other end. I glared at him, I hadn't seen him since my aunt Aurora had told me about his involvement in what had happened, and now that I had, hatred coursed through me.

"We can't put the lives of our members at risk any more than it is. It is disappointing that this is what we've come to." Damon said, running a hand through his hair.

"I promise Alpha," Alex started. "We've tried our best and we're continuing to do so but at this point, I think it's safe to assume the sorceress is no longer on our lands."

A nod of agreement went around the table.

"If she was, we would have found her by now." An older man said.
