Imaginary Colourful Fireworks

Lucas' POV

I'm not really a fan of 'what's running in my girlfriend's mind' series. I mean, after the call with Jamie, she became so occupied. Her mind keeps lurking everywhere, as if she's thinking something that was not in the present days.

Sometimes, she'll stare at me for God knows how long and it makes me uncomfortable. Or sometimes, she'll look outside the restaurant and her mind will roam around while I'm talking. It's been an hour but I couldn't feel her presence at all.

I had enough. I put down the steak knife and the fork, clasped my hands together as my elbows rested on the table and my chin on top of them.

"So tell me. What is it?" I asked, but again, Naomi couldn't hear me at all. "Naomi." I called but still no response. "Babe." I reached for her face and caressed it gently. She flinched on the sudden contact and she backed away. "What's wrong baby?"

"N-nothing." She stuttered, her eyes looking everywhere but me and I know there's something wrong with that call.
