I closed the door to Alexa’s room before sending a mindlink to Krane saying that they could retire for the night. And that I needed him tomorrow at six in the morning as we would drive to the Moon Stone Pack. I didn’t give him any time to ask as I shut off my mind afterward.

My gaze drifted to the chain on the bedside table before my eyes locked with Alexa. She was sitting at the end of her bed with her head tilted up, her face showing no emotions at all, but her eyes said otherwise. She was hurt and confused. Of course, she would be, after the way I treated her.

I walked and grabbed the chain from her side table and crouched in front of her. She wasn’t moving from her position, but her eyes were following my movement.

"I need to chain you," I told her, my voice void of any emotions. I waited for her to ask why or complain, but she didn’t. She just held her hand closer to mine as if she had accepted this routine already.
