“Try to understand Kriss. Zadicus is here and he is planning something big!” Persephone argued, going after Kriss, trying to convince him.
“And how he managed to come?” Kriss asked, stopping in his tracks, turning to her.
“You are the one who will be held responsible in the first place. It was your duty to secure our land.” He told her the bitter fact but it didn’t falter her determination.
“And I have fulfilled my duties but Zadicus is here, you have to believe me.” She insisted, pulling his arm.
“Oh really? For once I can believe, of all people, he came to see you first but how?” He asked, yanking his hand back, folding his arms at his chest.
“The Prince! He is not Prince Jazeel, He is Zadicus!” She growled, raising her voice, which caused Kriss to cover her mouth.
“For God’s sake, Persephone, Lower your voice!" He whispered-yelled, vexed about her feral behavior.
"It hadn’t been a single day and you are claiming him to be Zadicus, don't be absurd. On which proof are you making this assumption?" He asked, leaving her, motiong her to calm down, taking a deep breath she replied.
"He told me himself and his scent, it's the same as his. I am not lying, I saw it myself."
"That's it?" He asked, narrowing his eyes, "What? Do you need more?"
"Persephone, It was jasmine. anyone could smell like jasmine." He sighed in disappointment, "And what about what he told me?"
"Listen, Persephone." He breathed out, putting his hand on her shoulder, rubbing them gently.
"No, you have to listen to me, Kriss. Please." She whispered, shaking her head but he smiled gently.
"I know how much he meant to you. He was always present, in the back of your mind, intoxicating you." He tried to make her understand.
"But don't let your heart astray you towards deceptive images, Aziel needs you, I need you. Please, get a hold of yourself."
His smile grew wider, leaning his one hand to her cheek, circling it gentle, trying to console her in his feeble tone.
"I am not imagining, Kriss. You have to believe me." Her voice came out weak.
"I know you feel vulnerable in this matter, I know he is your only weakness but you have to be strong." He assured her, pulling his hands away from her but she held them tightly, not letting go.
"Don't you believe me?" She asked sternly.
"I cannot make decisions upon emotions, Persephone. I am sorry, I have responsibilities as the Prince, as long as you don't have a solid proof, I am afraid, I have to call it your vulnerability." He said apologetically, leaving her hand as she stood there defeated, outraged.
With fuming rage, she stormed out to confront him. He was having lunch with His Majesty and Kriss, talking about the country's 'affairs' for better outcomes and forming alliances.
“Just you watch, I will show them your true face.” She hissed, curling her hands in a fist.
During the lunch, Kriss inspected his demeanor but there was not a single glimpse of distrust in him, his acting, his knowledge, all of it.
It was immaculate leaving no sign for doubt, throwing Persephone at a disadvantage.
After the meeting, she was at the garden again, cursing a rose in her hands, not caring if the thorns hurt her skin or made it bleed.
I know he is your only weakness. "Tsk, He is not. Don't make your damn assumptions." She growled.
"If I am not then why are you perturbed?" He asked mockingly, walking steadily towards her. "You can deceive anyone but not me." She snarled, throwing the rose at his face.
"Darling, I let you know." He smirked, grabbing the smeared petal with a step, "Why?"
"To see this desperation... the urge to prove you are right.." He snickered, tracing the petal over her lips, dangerously close to hers.
"Ah, still hexed under my spell." He hummed, replacing the petal with his thumb but she slapped his hand away.
"Don't you dare to touch me with your filthy hands." She scowled, turning to leave but he held her wrist.
"Where will you go? Who will believe you?" Deriding, he yanked her back to maintain their intense eye contact.
"I will do whatever it takes to rip your shadow. People like you don't belong here, go back where you come from; Darkness." She whispered heartlessly. His jaw clenched with visible rage.
"I came from or you threw me? Don't act like a saint after being a sinner." He growled, gripping her neck possessively.
He is your only weakness. Shutting her eyes, she looked away.
"Why are you talking about what is baseless? You never did but don't worry, I don't want your justifications anymore." Letting out a husky chuckle to hide his ache professionally.
He walked closer, lifting her chin with the hand on her neck, "I will steal the hopes in your eyes.".
“Tonight, My Dear.” He murmured in her ears, her very being stiff.
“On this very night.” Moving down to her neck, he tried to kiss it but she moved her head, refraining to share any intimacy with him.
Chuckling, he moved back, smirking at her hopelessness.
“I will bring this whole land down in a single night, I promise you.” He laughed menacingly. Her eyes widened in disbelief, unaware what he planned to do in a night.
“You…” She trailed off, not knowing what to say, knowing his position, she knows he could do this but how? what? Where?
“I won’t let you.” She managed to say after a deadly silence.
“I will not let you ruin our lives again, Zadicus!” She yelled, losing her posture, summoning her sword, she tried to attack him but he jumped back.
“Don’t act hastily. Emotions will drown you.” He whispered but ignoring his words, she attacked him again and tried casting a spell as well but a voice called,
“Persephone!” Halting her steps, when Kriss came, stopping her very body, “His Highness?” She gasped, turning to him, “What the hell are you doing!?” He scolded.
“No, No, It’s okay. I am the one who asked her to show me.” Zadicus said sweetly, waving his hand to shrug it off.
“But-” Kriss tried to argue but she stood stunned realizing no one is going to believe in her.
“Kriss, no..” She whispered, lifting her orbs but he ignored her.
“It’s pleasure to witness your flairs, My Lady. See you tonight.” He smirked, walking away with Kriss as she froze in defeat.
“I apologize for it, Jazeel.” Kriss smiled sweetly.
“Ah, no worries. It was enjoyable.” Zadicus smiled back as the Princes left.
When she was left alone, she threw her sword on the wall, causing it to crack, cursing loudly.
“Fuck!” Punching the wall, she found herself in a weak position.
“I won’t let you destroy our land.” Hissing, she left, tightening the security, securing all points, all possessions of their land from this monster ignorant that-
Zadicus commanders are present in the country already.
“Ah, the signal from My Liege.” Ruth smirked after noticing the change in the formation.
“What signal?” Avin asked. “They are increasing security. It was his signal to execute our plan.” She told him, thrilled to lead a riot in the most powerful land.
Avin smirked darkly, looking at the moon. “So, it’s tonight. ” Emitting a deadly aura, one could see their malicious intentions, ordering.
“Commanders, Spread out! Tonight is going to be Aziel’s last night!”
“Assholes, mocking my capabilities.” Persephone growled, slamming her hand, the rage flickering on her face showed the fun made out of her state.“I won’t let them invade our land, I will protect Aziel at all cost.” She hissed, running her hand in her hairs, making them messy.Randall was disquiet about her reaction, unable to comprehend what is special about tonight and what threat could possibly occur in this surety.“What could have grazed us, My Lady? Why are you so hasty tonight?” He asked.Doubting her at this point but when a collected person is vexed then it must be something so he places his faith upon her judgment and following orders.Halting her tracks, Persephone glanced at him and then back at the full moon, whispering with stress, “Tonight… we might fall.” His eyes widened in disbelief, blinking, considering it to be a jest but it was not. “Fall? I.. don’t understand. What do you mean?” He asked for his confirmation.“I meant what I said and as the Army General, I mus
Persephone blinked, trying to register his words and her wrongdoing. The action of fulfilling what is required to save her land ended up in its devastation. “He knew… He knew I would do anything to save my land.” She breathed out the unintentional mistake she made. “And took advantage of it.” Hissing, she slammed her hand down, trying to perceive how to get out of this predicament. “What are you saying, My Lady?” Randall asked, distressed by her reactions and words. “We are in the most terrible position.” She breathed out the state she is stuck in, punching the wall, cursing under breath, losing her mind. “What should we do now?” Randall asked desperately and all her faze converted into pure rage, cursing him in her heart. “How did this happen? How could this break out in a single night?” She asked, regaining her senses with extreme difficulty, going with him. “The rebel party you caught. It was not only one of them, they were a whole organization and they have begun their attac
Her words brought a scowl on his face but containing his emotions he simply glared at her. “It’s your own fault. I never asked you to stay in my memories, Persephone.” He scoffed, disregarding her words. “Then why are you after me?” She asked hopelessly, mixed in her dilemmas, seeing him revived the emotions and scars she buried long ago. “A simple desire. I want you. That is all.” He chuckled, assaulting her sensitive nerves, evoking distress. “I can’t believe it…” She breathed out, taking a step back, shaking her head, refusing to believe the extent he is using to possess. “How low are you planning to fall, Zadicus?” She asked sorrowfully, holding the hem of her dress. Kriss noticed the glint of anguish in her eyes, inducing pity mixed with an unknown hint of jealousy he didn’t show in his heart. Only seeing the intense emotions shining in her eyes. “Why do you care? What can you do to stop me, huh?” Zadicus growled, losing his forbearance by her words, coming closer. “Can yo
Zadicus was sitting on top of the royal palace, scrutinizing the scenario aesthetically pleasing to his desires, smirking atrociously while staring at the ravage taking place. He died to see this sight, their condition similar to his heart’s.“My Liege,” A voice called, his Number 2, dragging him out from his rhythm of joy.He hummed, motioning her to continue and she informed about the death of number 10 which made her vexed to think how they could survive until the final act.“Kriss Emmett has killed Walter.” His smirk grew wider, anticipating it, “I see…” Looking up at the Moon, he spoke to himself, wallowing in the sight, waiting to see what it might take for Kriss to realize.“Let’s see how many commanders you can kill before you figure out my true plan, Kriss.” Meanwhile among the army, a wave of exhilaration evoked, cheering to know their Prince is on their side and nothing could harm them anymore.“His Highness has killed commander number 10!” They cheered, their faith st
“Long time no see.” He spoke, coming closer but she took a step back, refusing to believe it’s him, this was affecting her mind badly to see him after eight years-…and moreover an enemy.“What- How- How could this happen?” She asked, shaking her head, tightening her grip on her sword, knowing he is number 1 and she had to fight him.“This is impossible.” She whispered, blinking, trying to neglect the reality. “You can’t be alive.” She breathed out, narrowing her eyes thinking someone was playing with her mind.“Then what do you consider what you are seeing?” He chuckled darkly.Opening his hands, snapping his fingers to induce the realization it is not a dream nor illusion. He was truly here and she had to fight him.“It’s you…” She whispered when the painful realization hit her that she had lost him as well.“You chose his side too.” She said, disheartened at his choice of leaving them.“Why does it hurt? Have you forgotten such emotions are not supposed to exist for an enemy?” An
“There it is.” Zadicus breathed out after reaching the cave where it all started and he was there again after eight years. Coming closer, his eyes narrowed in dejection, recalling the unwanted moments which departed his very soul from the world. But, Soon his sorrow was replaced by seethe, coming closer to his target for what he ravaged the whole country. “Eight years. Took my eight year to know your activities.” He whispered, approaching the crystal embedded into a piece of rock with chains around it serving as a seal. It was used to conceal its identity as evil relics should stay where they belong. “And nothing could stop me now.” He whispered again, knowing Aziel’s breaths are dependent on this relic and possessing it will make him superior. “Eight… fucking… years.” A devilish smirk came to his lips, narrowing his eyes at the crystal remembering about the moment where he lost his call. “How can I believe an infidel?” The voice he buried long ago in his head dug again, stirri
“Zadicus.” Persephone called him, the hint of being disheartened in his choices was clear in her voice. Holding the hem of her dress, she walked closer but Zadicus only closed his eyes again, breathing out loudly her name. “Persephone.” Forcing himself to turn he saw the disappointment in her eyes but it can no longer be fixed. The path he has chosen has no return. “So you came to know…” He began to say in a low tone, turning to her, trying to ignore the sorrow in her eyes, hoping to know what he intended to attain by raze. “What do you hope to gain by doing this?” She asked, narrowing her eyes in anguish. Taking a step closer. Her aura emitted woe, refusing to believe that it’s her Zadicus who was once innocent and pure. “What satisfaction devastation will provide you?” Her voice went lower, trembling slightly but Zadicus remained stoic, only registering her words. “It isn’t about satisfaction.” He replied after a prolonged silence, gaining her attention, taking a step as w
“Don’t condemn yourself and the entire Fier to death.” She pleaded, readying to do whatever it takes to halt his actions but this was the extent he could bear.He must stop the intoxication of her words stirring his mind.“Or what?!” He yelled, slamming his hand on the wall, appearing to crack on it, indicating the difference in their power. Exhaling his rage before giving her a predatory gaze. Her breath hitched, taking a step back. It was fine if it was anyone but hearing it from him, startled her for a second. “What do you think you can do to stop me?!” He yelled, losing his breath, barely controlling his overflowing power that was dying to release itself. And her words are only enhancing their intensity.“Mindless of you to assume your words could leave any impact.” He growled, showing the scorn she induced in him.l “Your weakness, these fatuous words. All of them are meaningless. They won’t affect me.” He told her bitter truth, the knitted brows displaying his exasperation.“Do
